1. If Cleveland came calling and said we will give you the 1st overall pick and #12 overall for Dak, would you do it?

2. Let's suppose the Cowboys decided it was too good of an offer to pass up and made the trade. We could take the pass rusher #1 overall and possibly take the best QB in the class at #11. Obviously in this scenario we would KEEP ROMO.

3. Assuming #2 happened how do you think it would turn out for the Cowboys.

This would be pointless! We'd lose our qb of the future and they're not Winning a sb with this defense this year.

If the Cowboys went that route they would no doubt be trading their QB of the future. But they could also acquire one with the 12th pick.

I personally think the Cowboys might be tempted by this pick. They would get the best pass rusher in the draft, could get the best QB of this class, could draft a starting corner with their 2nd round pick and a safety in the 4th.

They would get quite a haul out of the trade. In the short run they might win a SB.

And who would you want playing quarterback for the next 10 years? You don't trade a franchise Young QB PERIOD. Do yourself a favor and close the tread before the beating....lol.

We have two. It is funny how badly you guys want to cling to a rookie QB who might regress and throw away your 10 year starter. Lol

Would you trade Dak for Clevelands two first round picks and their second? That's # 1, #12 and #32. Plus we would have our pick at #28. That's a lot of ammo.

Dak is awesome and I want to keep him but he wouldn't look the same in Cleveland. He wouldn't crack .500.

No No No No No.... No.

You don't piss away good fortune like we got in our 4th round pick last year. The best we could ever hope to get with a draft pick is what we got in Dak. He's on the squad now and you don't gamble it away. Besides... anything coming from Cleveland is already cursed.

No because there's no guarantee those guys would be good anyways. Not having a QB is the worse curse a team can have. A team is paralyised until they find one.

Now if I could magically see those picks turning into all pros defensive ends, and Matthew Stafford was coming in and had another 8 years left then maybe, but it's just to risky.

Cleveland won't be calling anybody except to trade Osweiler.

They will probably select Garrett and either Trubisky, Mahomes or Kizer at #12 to secure those 5yr contracts.
Who knows which player will fall, but they will be there to grab him at #33 as well.

Cleveland has this draft by the gonads.

And what happens when that QB we draft at 12 turns into Christian Ponder. You just traded a guy you know can be a Pro Bowl level QB in our system for a DE and hot garbage. They would look terrible even if they managed to win a Super Bowl this year, which is highly doubtful given Romo's injury. If you have a young QB you know can play at a high level in this league, you dont trade him period. Heck we got offered a second round pick for Romo BEFORE HE EVER TOOK A SNAP and passed.

It is true that this draft runs through Cleveland. I could see Cleveland trying to trade back and acquiring more picks.

They could use this draft to build one hell of a defense.

I am not proposing we do it. I am discussing what if?

There are no guarantees with Dak either. It sure looks like the real deal but give the NFL a year and he may have a bit of a drop off.

If we do, there is a good chance we have alot of 5-11 seasons in our future

I disagree. If we did it we would have 3 or 4 years, with Romo, with a much improved defense, and maybe a super bowl victory or two. Then, if we couldn't replace Dak, the world would go to hell in a handbasket.
