And its not just in coverage either. They cant tackle like they were watching Deion lowlights

This team has no inclination to play hard and win.

The culture this FO has created basically tells them the day they are drafted that they are ALREADY winners.

No accountability, the HC has no power, the media cant call out the FO. Its literally the definition of dysfunction.

We can blame players all we want to, but the one constant that's been here thru all of this crap is up in the press box.

Bland got beat by the best WR in football, it happens. At least he plays hard and tackles. Watch Diggs - he gets blocked by a box of kleenex. It looks like he wants to get blocked so he doesn't have to make the tackle. There's a reason right at the start Cincy ran it and threw it to his side.

I'm so tired of Diggs. He's a one-trick pony: if the front gets pressure he can ball hawk. Otherwise he's practically useless. Perfect Jerry Jones front running Cowboys player who can make flashy plays but doesn't want to do the dirty work.

The Cowboys' secondary is terrible. Diggs was a huge mistake and Jerry will make the same mistake with Bland.

Watch Diggs - he gets blocked by a box of kleenex. It looks like he wants to get blocked so he doesn't have to make the tackle.

He initiates contact with the WR then gets walked completely off the field. You would swear that you are watching some sort of practice. Other teams must watch the all 22 and laugh their faces off. Pretty sure our team avoids watching it intentionally. I can't help but watch him now to see what he is up to because it is so crazy. It ruins the game for me though just like Jaylon used to.

the problem is soft zone Zimmer plays. Zimmer doesn't do anything to scheme to help the players he has. same problem with Fat Mike.

Zimmer left them 1-on-1 on Chase more than most defenses choose to do. He's really an impossible cover without help.

Bland had a solid game who do you think they were playing? Chase n Burrow combo is gonna beat your CBs sometimes. Bland played solid. Diggs played like he didn't care, everyone beat him. Heck yeah, pay Bland, not Diggs type money tho, and try to find a way to get off of Diggs contract.

LOL. I remember catching hell for suggesting you trade bland last year while his price would never be higher. CBs really dont matter as much as front 7. At this point there is no difference between Jordan Lewis and Diggs/bland. And look at the cost.

That alone would have netted Henry and maybe and edge rusher

More importantly, is it the CB's, or is Zimmer's scheme supposed to have them play 10 yards off the receiver?? My gosh, I get so sick of seeing other teams WR's WIDE OPEN against our seconcary!!! I want to see our CB's playing it close to the receiver. I agree with another poster in that why was there no safety help to cover Chase for most of the game? I mean, Chase just had his way with our defense, and it was embarrassing!!

Can’t match up nor do they have any play recognition

Couple that with the two clowns we have at safety and you get this defense where we usually give up at least 30 points a game

3rd and 5 and they are 12 yards off the ball. Who does this besides this team???

The guys who have been near the top of the league in interceptions over the past two seasons have no play recognition...OK.

The main issue is the scheme. Zimmer plays DB's so far off the line all they can hope to do is move up and make a tackle. It's the old "Bend but don't break defense" that doesn't work anymore. The rules are so much against the defense that you can't just hope they'll make a mistake because even if they do the refs will likely bail them out. Couple that with having nothing at safety. We are basically playing with only 9 guys on defense most of the time as the safeties are just there to get on camera, arriving late to the play after it's already over. That's our #1 need. Not DT, not RB, but Safety.
