Diggs' Projection?

I don't know which CB it was (not Diggs or Bland) but he seemed to be coming on strong and then got injured.

Cb will be one of the first 3 picks and should be

Lewis leaving made it a bigger need. I still see WR and RB higher but hard telling which direction they go

Perhaps they can still snatch up Gilmore again and maybe Carson turns the corner

They like Mingo at WR2

Turp in the slot.

Diggs isn’t elite anymore due to the knee.

His career is threatened because of the knee.

He’s gonna get a post June cut someday.

God I hope you’re wrong on this. Mingo hasn’t shown nothing and as much as I like Turpin it’s mostly as a gadget guy

If McMillian at 12 or Golden in a trade down a few spots I hope they pull the trigger.

We need more than CeeDee at WR and we’ve had the other 2 already and they have provided little to nothing

Tolbert provides more at at WR. I’m also ok with moving on from Diggs his aversion to contact has soured me on him

Still have a hard time getting past his olay on kittle in playoff game and dropped puck

What's with all the "cut Diggs" posts? The Cowboys take a CAP hit if they cut him, and even if they didn't, they don't need the CAP space right now. We lost Lewis, why open another gaping hole in the roster by cutting Diggs. There is nothing to gain by cutting him so why not let him rehab and return and see what he has after the injury?

Are we cutting guys now just to make some moves, or are we going to do what makes sense?

Its his knee.

It’s jacked.

He’s being paid to be elite.

Regarding our CB Diggs:

1. How much would we save on the cap by cutting him?
2. Any possibility we draft his replacement then draft or cut him this season?
3. Do you think he is in the Cowboys’ long term plans?
4. How high of a priority will cornerback be in the upcoming draft?
cutting him now would cost 28M....post June 1, it would be 14M split.

with that said, no way jerry will do it. he will stick with him, because Jerry hates to pay for any position twice, which dead cap represents to him. so earliest we cut him is next year and he has a 12M cap hit then. chances are he will keep him through 2026. where his cap hit is 8.5M.

I gurantee you we will draft a couple of CBs this year, hoping to find another bland.

Cutting Diggs will result in a $9M cap hit that can be split between 2025/2026 if post June 1. Have to keep in mind though that he isnt medically cleared so the Cowboys would have to negotiate an injury settlement for him to be cut which in my mind makes it very unlikely they go this route.

My guess is they hang onto him for another year, hope he rebounds some of his value and becomes a possible trade candidate next offseason. If not they can still cut him next offseason for a $6M cap hit. They probably try to get his money off the books in order to pay Bland after this year.
Agree
He would need to be traded at the trade deadline because players like him get ‘injured’

No savings to cut him this year vs cutting him in March of next year.

A trade this year would save some cap dollars but even if they give a team a 7th plus Diggs, nobody wants an expensive injured player.

2025 is almost certainly his final season in Dallas. The team (Stephen Jones) is irritated about his lack of effort in rehab.

If they cut him, it will be next year. It won't be a post June 1st cut.

It makes no sense to cut him this year. It makes less sense to make him a June 1st cut and pass 8m on to next year. Because Dallas doesn't need the 9m this year.
