Diggs has been focusing much more on shadowing close to his prey and not allowing them to attain useful separation. He still retains the great ball skills that has become his calling card, though. It's his ability to thwart success by the WRs that he's assigned to, which has improved the most in 2022.

Something about this kid many fans aren't aware of is his work ethic is off the chart. Lots of players talk about working on their game but this kid is proving to be one of the hardest-working players on the team. After his rookie season, he noticed he had a chance at something 15-20 interceptions ( not sure the exact number) he left on the field.......... result, was an NFL record 11 interceptions. He recently talked about this past off-season and how worked on the little things to improve his coverage..........result, playing at an ALL-Pro level through 4 games

Rams game a prime opportunity for Trevon Diggs to continue his stellar season
Trevon Diggs can silence a lot of critics this week.

He has the INT part down, now he's learning how to cover.
His ceiling is very high.
Could be the next great CB.

Has the troll come in here to say you don't pay corners even though multiple super bowl Champs have high paid cbs? Trolling is more fun than facts though. I get it

Tbh it should be this year. Cowboys would be stupid to wait after year 4 to extend him

I mean it takes two. I'm of the belief that a player will always gamble on themselves unless a deal they can't refuse is available. If a record breaking deal is available for Diggs in year 4 then I expect them to sign it. But that doesn't seem to be how Stephen negotiates his deal. He seems to wait to the last possible time he can.

Diggs will probably get an extension after this season. Parsons after next season. The good news is that their big cap hits won't pop up until 2025 for Diggs, and 2027 for Parsons. The cap should be a lot higher by then.
Pay them both. They transformed our defense from the Hot Boyz to Doomsday IV. I used to cringe when our defense was on the field. It was like a slow painful death. Now with Diggs and Parsons they're not on the field as much and the QBs are the ones dying. Diggs and Parsons changed the production, attitude, and swagger of the defense. You can't put a price on that. No Diggs and Parsons and there's no 12-5 2021 and no 3-1 2022.

I think what happens with Quinn after this season is more critical to the defense than any one player. Micah might be the exception, but I would hate losing Quinn.

An advantage we have is he is a late 2nd round pick. His year 4 is going to be a shade under 1.5 million. That might make him more willing to sign after this season and get that big guarantee. He can probably top Jaire Alexanders deal. I can see Diggs gets 40 million guarenteed

Yes. They can't be playing games with these two.

The trick to a consistently great defense is having at least one great player at every level. Right now they have elite players on two levels with Micah and Diggs. Let's assume Micah bulks up a bit and remains a regular edge rusher, we're looking at needing to find a linebacker to complete the trio. Clark? Cox? LVE after a stem cell procedure in Mexico? Long story short, this defense will be in great shape for a really long time if they lock up Micah and Diggs. The future is very bright!

Diggs is a free agent after the 2023 season so expect either a franchise tag (currently stands at $17.2M for 2022) or a Top 5 CB contract extension (currently in the $20M/season average)....also consider that Micah Parsons is a free agent after the 2025 season (his 5th year rookie option for 2024 would be around $18M. Hopefully Diggs keeps performing and Dallas can continue to build the defense.
When Micah’s up, d laws contract will be done. They’ll use that money for him. When Diggs is up, Zekes contract will be done. They can use that money. Lamb won’t get a monster lambs not an elite reviver so he won’t get a mega deal.

You might want to tap on the brakes.

Yesterday, he gave up a 50+ yard pass and a 70+ yard pass.
