Just got my early bird offer from them today. 5 payments of $49.80 a month. I thought it was $199.99 last year ? Anyone remember what they paid last year ? Did it go up ???

Maybe its because I don't have a DirectTV package ? I only get the NFL ticket....

It goes up every year. I believe it was over $200 last year. I've had it for several years.

im debating whether or not to get it because theres gonna be alot of games on t.v.

I wish they'ed let us do it like Pay-per-view where you only buy the games you want to watch for like $9.99 each or something.

I usually don't watch that many other games on Sunday...mainly the Boys, so I waste $$ to watch 8-10 games a year.

Oh well...it's better then not seeing them play at all!

The cable companies goofed up when they let only Direct TV carry the package. I think a lot more people would have it cable companies carried it.

Hey, don't forget, you are also an anti-Browns fan next year!

I know that I'm going to watch some of those Browns games.

It goes up pretty much every year.

I pray that they never figure out how much I'd actually be willing to pay for it! :D

Jarv, question for you. I was able to pull off only having Sunday Ticket with no monthly programming back in 2002, but when I asked about the possibility of doing that again a couple of years later, they said that option was no longer available. In other words, you had to have continuous monthly programming if you wanted any sports subscription. You mean to tell me you are still able to do that? How many years have you done it that way, just curious.

They didnt bill me for it yet. I think that starts in august.

If they raise it anymore I am going to scrap it at some point, I added in the cost of superfan last year and it just is outrageous.

I've had other people tell me that too, I think its because I've had it for 10 years now and I've never canceld, also I'm on automatic payment so they just bill my card that $49.99/month for 5 months this year. I have never had a regular monthly packagewith DirectTV. Last year I would have only missed the Falcon NFL channel game without it (although my GF has Comcast with it (NFL channel) so I could have gone there).

If I canceld it I would probably be in the same boat as you.

Heck the $250/year is worth it, for some reason I also get the NFL channel year round with my subscription ? Just not having to worry about if the game will be on every week is worth it alone, not to mention the tab at a sports bar if I ever had to go out.

Here in Utah, the local games are always Broncos! So, I would have to go to a sports bar to see a Cowboy game (that I could never hear what was going on)...and to top it off, by the time the game was done, I probably dropped $50.00 in drinks for me and friends that I saw there, and tips for the bartenders, maybe some kind of munchies!

Not now! I pay the price for the Sunday Ticket...relax..tell the wife to take a hike (although she already knows when the season starts that I'm my only man)...put the 3 Chihuahuas outside...kick back and STAND during every Cowboy game that comes on!

They could raise the price of Sunday Ticket to $500.00 a seasone if they want too! That just means that my family has to do without other things...I'm watching Cowboy football!

They don't like it...? Tough! We will eat pinto beans and cornbread and fried potatoes for a month...

;)

I had the same problem with them not letting me have Sunday Ticket only a few years back. Really pissed me off, and I basically was robbed IMO of about $130 extra each winter for crap I didn't want. Everything was fine until I switched to a new box, when I did that, everything went to hell. I need to find a way to get Superfan for free this year. Certainly don't want to pay the full $100, and really even $50 is ridiculous. I pay for Sunday Ticket, I pay for HD, I should get HD Sunday Ticket. Maybe if I threaten to not get Sunday ticket at all they'll throw it in for free.

Relaxxxx...$250 is still cheaper than a handful of trips to a sportsbar. Pay the money, get the games, buy some Grey Goose, and enjoy!

I think you hit the nail on the head, you are "grandfathered" in in that sense, because of never having had an interruption. I think they changed the policy in either '03 or '04. I had an interruption in service for a year, and that's what did me in.

I prefer Chopin rather than Grey Goose. Potato vodka is naturally smoother than grain.
