very happy with Zach. The QB depth chart in Weeden and Hanie says nothing other than filling in for Romo if he goes down, not much more. He could go down.

Of course he could go down. That is football. And if Romo does go down, well....perhaps next draft they pick up a QB.

But, Romo is not done and Weeden seems to be able to play for a while just in case.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Will any Pats, Saints, Packers, Broncos or Colts fans be watching any heir apparents?

Relax Bro, you're in elite company.

Actually, the Broncos have been watching Osweiler for a few seasons.

Yes - because they think Romo has time left. If he didn't, they'd have and "heir" by now.

If he goes down again this season, they'll draft a QB. They'd have to.

The only reason we'd have a chance this year to maybe make the playoffs would be Romo playing well (and healthy). If he goes down, no matter who replaces him, we have no shot. Manziel or no Manziel.

But can't that be said about most teams in the NFL? Forget comparing to the elite teams ...
Who is staffords heir apparent?
Maninng in NY?
Flacco in Balt
Etc etc ... Don't get me wrong .. They will need to identify the qb of the future .... Soon... Just not yet .. Maybe this season will be the one that pushes them to that point ...

To be clear with you, I have no interest in Manziel. When Drew went down (by choice or not), Romo came in and it went from there. Not liking that there's no matriculating QB, that I know of, on the roster now that could offer longer term options

Manziel was at the top of the draft board. It's at a position of uncertainty, at best. He should have been the pick.

Can we wait until Manziel sucks before we talk about him being "the pick". We're not rebuilding. Why on earth would you waste a draft pick on Manziel when you had offensive line and defensive line needs AMONG other things?

And the Pats have Jimmy Garapolo. Not to mention Luck and Rodgers are a heck of a lot younger. So really outside the Saints that list is bunk.

A replacement wouldn't sit on the bench that long. Not if he were any good.

As long as Romo is a Cowboy and with his salary, a replacement would be sitting on the bench. It is what it is. What replacement is gonna be better than Romo (a healthy Romo)? Manziel, no.
