Disappointing day

I absolutely hate not having a 1st rounder in the draft. All we can do is hope that Jerry and Wade pick up a decent second tier guy, and then it's on to the later rounds and hoping we can add maybe one or two more guys that have some talent.

Talk about a boring day that should be exciting and dripping with suspense when your team is on the clock, and you have memorized everything there is to know about the guy you covet the most, hoping your team pulls the trigger and picks him.

Now we've become those fans. You know, the ones that have to sift through the guys that didn't grade high enough to become mentioned in the same breath as the guys that landed in the first round. Yeah, that's us this year. Sad.

Now every once in awhile a blind squirrel finds his nut. But let's hope we stay away from the Skyler Greens, and the Tony Dixons of this draft. Hopefully there is another Marion Barber out there, or Orlando Scandrick.

*Gotta give a big Happy Birthday to my brother who turns the big FOUR-O today! Love ya bro, and enjoy the draft.

Please, this draft stinks as far as starpower. The value is in the late first and beyond. I'm looking forward to sunday. Sunday is where the scouts and talent evaluators earn their money.

This draft is completely watered down. Weak from one end to the other. Though I hope I'm proved wrong.

And for the first round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2009 draft ---Dallas picks Roy Williams Wide reciever from Texas by way of Detroit

Feel better:)

Yeah, in most drafts that might be the case, but this one stinks for getting the real stud players. Think about where Felix and Jenkins would go this year... They seriously might both be the first players picked at their positions.

There will be plenty of very solid, contributing players from this draft in the mid-rounds, where we have plenty of ammo.

You could say that about every draft. Value is in the later rounds. Old news. You just have to hope and keep your fingers crossed that we land a couple gems.

No, cause Troy Aikman mentioned BUST and Roy Williams in the same breath. :laugh2:

is it not a good thing that we don't have to spend first round money in it then?

I wouldnt be suprised to see us move back into the 2nd and see us end the day with 2 players if there is something we like enough

What does Troy know about football ---Trust me --Drink a beverage----say Roy is alright --drink a beverage --say Roy is good --continue until you feel better or sleep thru the whole first day:laugh2:

Exactly.
You have a fan who whines that we do not have a 1st round pick but then says the draft is watered down from the start to the end.
Sometimes people are not happy unless they have something to worry about.

I could really care less we don't have a 1st. Maybe it's because I've just become so used to looking at 2nd round prospects, but I don't mind not having a 1st. I'll still be there gavel to gavel love the draft.

AWWWWW!

whenever ppl say the draft will be weak... just the opposite happens! Now im going to go for a walk!

Look at it this way, if did have a first we wouldn't have Roy Williams and therefore would still have TO.

My favorite two players we drafted in last year's draft were 4th and 5th rounders -- OS and TC. Those mid rounds are much more exciting than the top rounds because you can usually have some of your personally higher rated guys fall a bit and can root for your team to pick them up. I was more excited when we got TC in the 4th last year than probably any pick in recent history.
