I agree with you, and he shouldn’t be extended when you examine the facts, but that doesn’t take one thing into account….what’s the alternative?

It’s kinda like the QB. Worth that money? No way, but what are the other options?

Really, I don’t think too many would actually work here. They’d have to be a retread that no one else wants or someone that isn’t ready. Stephen actually admitted that “they hadn’t thought about it” just a couple of weeks ago. Seriously?? They have no other options, Jerry is going to have to over pay (in his mind) for MM, then he will resent that and tell him to do “more with less” because of his paycheck.

This is headed right into the ground one way or another.
The infrastructure/chain of command is set up by a GM/owner who couldn't let his QB mistake play it out on the last year of his deal mainly because public perception would have been that Jerry had made a mistake in sticking with Prescott.

Remember we're talking about a guy still saying 500 coaches could win with the talent I put on the field ego.

Jerry doesn't take too well to public criticism. Look at the fallout from the WFAN 105.3 incident.

So he's married at the hip to his 240 million dollar mistake QB and would not know the first thing about starting with a fresh new head coach who isn't a puppet. Or would a coach with balls even want to work here? I don't know.

But the win in spite of Jerry coaching pool is a very small one and even less so that he would be inheriting Dak as well.

So, fun times ahead. With or without McFraud.

Jerry was waiting for his phone to ring and it never did.

Ha yeah nice one.

“We are open to a change. Our lines are open.”

Pure arrogance. ‘We are the Dallas Cowboys and everyone wants this job.”

I have my doubts on anyone that would be an upgrade….not that they could as much as figure out who that could even be.

People around the league would probably spill the goods on Jerry more often if they didn’t know he is vindictive and has no problem trying to ruin a career of someone just trying to earn a living. They can’t even have journalistic integrity, they have to cater to him like his wait staff.

Gentry will give us some hope, but it won't be enough, unless we fix our run defense.
If the front office doesn’t change their philosophy on free agency it will be a two year rebuild even if you resign Osa, Gholston, and Lewis. Just to many holes to plug in one offseason.

Well if you cut him and eat the dead money, you then still have to replace him. So it would cost twice as much, to get rid of him.
I'm not advocating cut him but as far as replacing him I have no doubt in my mind Richards, Guyton or anyone can do as good as he is. And for not nearly the salary.

I think he is....when we signed him to that deal I was shocked then and i'm even more shocked now.
Huge mistake signing him he is a weak link. I think id actually prefer them to draft a solid left tackle and move guyton to his more natural spot

Maybe see if Richards can play there at LT. Nothing Edoga brings to the table is impressive.

Maybe guyton getting another year helps but the line needs to get better

Jerry is more a Politician than a NFL Executive.

I agree. They are protecting him because no way they can't see Richards not look as good.

Those 3 years of a down NFC and bottom 5 easiest NFL schedules created the fools gold and pixie dust some wanted to buy into.

Most of us applied critical thinking and considered strenf of schedule

Watching this packers game. Yall get it yet?
Well I am not seeing Jacobs be much of a factor at all. Maybe, just maybe, that has something to do with the DT position. Just a thought.

When you look at Jacobs end of year stats and you compare them Rico's, it would have been interesting to compare their stats, if Rico had started day one. Yardage may have been pretty close, but Jacob's had 15 TD's.

Jacob's is available 2.5 ypc. 2022 mcaffrey averaged 3.5. Is dt all you fans see? Really?

Every team in the league has a bad record against good teams, that is just how it is. And Dallas record was among the best during this time. They didn't have easier schedules than every other team. There are many reasons why this team hasn't won big, and they all start with the GM.
Yeah so much bad logic in here

Dallaseast post is relevant. From a point differential we were pretty good in 2022 and 2023 but pretty bad in 2020, 2021 and 2024

Our performance against good teams on the regular season has been ‘ok’ overall under McCarthy. Certainly hasn’t been dismal. Playoff performance has been the issue.
