That is one opponent on turkey day that will never happen. The Lions will always have the early game followed by the Cowboys game.

If "no confidence in Romo" is your thing then why restrict that strategy to just short weeks. Are you so sure that he is still built for this game at all? The last game he played in, he was terrible. Him getting hurt was our chance to win that game... too bad our backup QB sucks too.

If that is case we should be due for the Giants, but it probably will be the Eagles.

Well he was also just as bad against the Eagles a year ago...then he turned around and had the best stretch of games in his career. He even admitted that the short week bothered him against the Eagles, sure he would say the same for the Panthers game if he was asked.

I hate all the attention the Eagles get. For all the hate we get for not winning a SB in twenty years, the Eagles have never won one and it seems they have become a staple on Thanksgiving as well. Not to mention, every year someone gives them SB aspirations. They must have a terrific marketing team.

Agreed, which is kinda ironic though, it was Thanksgiving 2006 when I was completely sold on him and bought a Romo jersey. (That I still have btw)...It used to be he was great On Turkey Day and November in General....

Skins seem to be more headed in the right direction (albeit minimal) than the eagles...the eagles don't even know who their qb will be...they keep chasing their tail every year

What is an excuse? He had a horrible game against the Eagles in a short week and followed it up with the best month of his life. That same Eagles team he beat on a full week a couple weeks later to take the division. We didn't get to see if he would've followed the Panthers performance with similar results.
It's not really an excuse, these are facts. Romo struggles without his normal weekly routine.

Back to the OP. I think it's good for the NFL to have divisional opponents, causing more people to tune in. As for me, I wish we could schedule the worst team we play all year for Thanksgiving, makes my holidays better

It's Thanksgiving.. people watch football, regardless. I don't necessarily think more will watch just because they're division opponents. They should always schedule the team that they think will have the least.amount of viewers each season to play us on TG, and save divisional games for primetime, or later in the season. (IMO)
