We are going to get a bad draw no matter what. It would have been better to get the 2 seed this year. Look at the Patriots. They get the winner of Oakland/Houston. Even the Steelers get Matt Moore and Alex Smith most likely before the play winner of NE vs Houston/Oakland

I don't understand this post at all, why would it be better to get the 2 seed? Then you go into AFC which has nothing to do with the NFC at all. If you get the 2 seed you have to play on the road to the 1 seed in the NFC Championship if you and them make it.

Seattle is the 3 seed (highest wild card seed) we face the lowest wild card seed that wins. That will be one of those three teams. I hope it's Detroit although I doubt it. They'd have to lose tonight then beat Seattle in Seattle, or win tonight then beat the Giants and Seattle would have to win against Green Bay.

I think it's more likely we face either Green Bay or the Giants.

Any way I look at this, we play Green Bay.

Scenario A: Green Bay is the 4 seed. They beat the Giants and Seattle beats the Lions. We play Green Bay.
Scenario B: Green Bay is the 6 seed. They beat Seattle. We play Green Bay.

Outside chance we play the Giants, but remote. Virtually no chance we play the Lions.

Revenge game from 2014 playoffs.

But I can't count out Giants beating the Packers either.

I hate to say this but boy this looks a lot like the last time we went 13-3. We lost a game that didn't mean anything to end the season and then played the Giants in the Divisional round. This time I hope that we are better coached than we were under Wade.
I'll day this. We played much better in this December than we did in 2007. Didn't have anything similar to the Detroit game that year.

Would you rather get the winner of Detroit/ Seattle or Giants/Green Bay? I think Atlanta has a much easier road to the NFC Championship game.

I was trying to show how tough our draw was compared to that of NE. I thought it was obvious but I guess not.

I'd rather have HFA in the Conference Championship. Detroit could still win this game also it's 7-7.

Everyone in this thread was saying the same thing about the Giants prior to the second meeting..how week one was so far away and the game in NY would be completely different..Daks first game..Zekes first game..much better team

Blah blah blah

Yall still haven't learned...no thanks

Det
GB

NYG
I don't want to see young Prescott going up against a pressure defense that can put pressure on the QB while having 3 good corners to press our receivers. I have no reason to think this time would be different. The Vikings, Eagles, and Giants (twice) have played us this way with success. No thanks....
Unless we have the balls to insert Romo then I don't want to see it.

The NFL is too tough no matter who we play to assume we will win anything. The NFL is the only league where the best team doesn't advance to the next round....there is a reason everyone just wants to get in the playoffs. Anything truly can happen.

You can't be afraid to play anyone in the playoffs, I'm sure the cowboys would love to play the Giants again, that's what makes them different from the average person, they don't go out onto field thinking they are going to lose to any team. There is no way Dallas would have won 13 games if they were mentally weak. Dallas was in both of the games they played against the Giants, it's not like they were blown out. The Giants are in Dallas's division, they have to play them twice a year, there is no room to be afraid of them. Also there is no easy road to the Super Bowl, can you imagine Dallas getting to the Super Bowl and facing the Patriots? That quarterback and coach are masters of the game. Better that Dallas learn now, than get to the Super Bowl and get schooled. I'm sure some of you remember Dallas losing in the Super Bowl to the Steelers twice(I do) it is no worse feeling than losing in the Super Bowl. I would rather Dallas face a tough road on the way to the Super Bowl, and if they are not good enough, then so be it, they are young and I am confident that Garrett has them headed in the right direction for years to come. No disrespect to your opinion meant.

The level of quarterback play for some of the AFC Playoff teams is not on the same level as it is in the NFC, it is what it is, Dallas has to be ready to play a good quarterback, no matter what.

They are not going to bench a 13-3 quarterback at this point in the season, every team has pay their dues, if Dallas is good enough then they will advance, if not then they will lose. There are no easy wins (not usually) in the playoffs. And for the record, not every team can play defense like the Giants. The Eagles and Vikings don't matter, because they are not in the playoffs.

I wasn't saying they were or even should bench Prescott.
All I have said is Prescott has not shown me anything that says he can be effective against this type of defense. So to answer the question of this thread, I don't want to see the Giants because I don't see how the results will be much different. The Giants defense shut down the Commanders today also.
The Eagles and Vikings do matter because they play a similar style of defense as the Giants and this has proven to be effective against Dak. So in the context of my post concerning how Prescott has struggled with certain types of defense with multiple attempts, it matters.
You have said pretty much nothing here. Just stated a few obvious points.

I'm not trying to discredit the Giants defense, it is legit. But let's have some context here. Game 1 was the first game of the season, first game of Dak and Zeke's career. Dak played well enough to win Dez and Beasley dropped TD passes and Williams failed to run out of bounds that might have given us the game winning field goal. The second game Eli said himself the ball was wet and he couldn't hold on to it. If they could beat us a third team more power to them, but the situation would be different. There will be no wet ball, Dak and Zeke have experience now, and we even have some pass rushers we didn't have.

However I admit Dez having 1 catch for 8 yards in both meetings is concerning to me. Jenkins seems to have his number.

I thought it before games today, and nothing I've seen changes my mind

We'll be playing potentially the three best QBs to get our title: Rodgers, Ryan, then Brady.

Because we protected our stars in a meaningless game? We did something that good teams tend to always do every season. It just so happens that we were the only team with everything locked up.

We could've rested everyone last week as well. Think of week 16 as our final game of the year and this week as practice.
Well lets see how it goes, I know Dak and zeke wanted to play, Dak said about getting injured, its football, you take your chances,
I want the reps, and the 14th win.
And if you saw zeke bored on the sideline, he was down about not getting to play.
Whoever we play 1st game will have played hard games week 17 and 18 , while our guys were not playing.

Hopefully the Cowboys will be ready in 2 weeks.
In the past many teams that coast final week or 2 wind up losing the first playoff game.
