Taco................DIrving.........Thornton.......Tapper/Mayowa

Yes, Marinelli changed the lineup early last season because they were getting gashed against the run. DLaw was suspended. They moved TCrawford to LDE with Collins replacing him at 3-tech DT, and the run defense significantly improve immediately.

The big variables are obviously the health of DLaw and Crawford, the development of David Irving and whether Irving or Crawford is at DE or DT.


RDE – DLaw, Mayowa, Taco

3T – Collins, Paea

1T - Thornton, Irving

LDE – Crawford, Taco, Tapper

I don't understand Paea at 3T and Irving at 1T. I know players are moved around but Paea is less twitch more muscle.
Tapper at the LDE seems misplaced as well. Who knows.

People tend to over-focus on t-tech vs 3-tech. In many passing situations, they play both DTs as 3-techs. If they do that 50% of the time, then:
50% snaps: 1tech + 3tech
50% snaps: 3tech + 3tech

Total DT snaps (both DTs together): 75% 3tech, 25% 1-tech

He's already flashed it. Even moreso last season before he was stripped of us in the playoffs.

It's fine. I understand what message board I'm on. I won't try to make you think differently. I believe, personally, that he should have the wherewithal to abstain when the tests are due, much like our beloved Step did. I have faith that our Cowboys brass are all over him, watching him, protecting him, as he is a sure-fire (IMO) elite prospect, and deserves that's attention.

that because people are wrong
paea was signed as the mcclain replacement at 1T. he's a 1 dimensional 2 gap run stop guy.
he's played for rod before so he we know how he uses him already. paea was the 1, melton the 3.

in fairness to him he has documented bipolar and depression issues and should be able to get a medical clearance for weed.
while it seems easy to say just stop doing it, i'd rather not see him go alonzo spellmen or jay ratliff crazy when he could just smoke weed.

Good point, on a personal level, but given the current NFL drug policy Gregory doesn't make a lot if sense on a personnel level.

agree completely.
wasted pick for sure and it sucks but rules are rules.
hope he remains mentally healthy even if he never plays football again.

Not many people agree, but I'm one of the guys that does. Mayowa was a stud in the last 6 games of the season. Let's hope he can keep it up. Dlaw needs to get off the Roy Williams diet.
