4 sacks. 9 pressures.

Our defense looked like a different team today. Confidence is a big factor with defensive play. It looks like our confidence grew today. Be interested to see if we can carry that forward.

The biggest thing was all the stunts, stunts are like blitzes you do them too much and teams will scheme against it and burn you.

Everything was working today.

DL looked great.

That game could've been way worse if not for NFL officials standing in the way.

It looks like they've gotten a good grasp on the DT rotation.

Saw those guys make some big plays today in pushing the pocket.

Lawrence's looked really good, too.

But maybe the bengals OL just sucks

Judging by the stats from the Bengals games before ours, their offensive line played bad against the Jets and Broncos, but played solid against the Dolphins and Steelers. Their average, but it's nice to see this defensive line creating havoc.

The Bengals OL is respected as a very good one actually.

They have been in the last. Whitworth is considered to be almost as good as Tyron (by bengals fans).

But I haven't heard flowing reviews as much this year.

I'm hoping we've just improved that much.

Agreed.

I think the effort based pass rush is just getting into game shape now.

It does seem like league officials try to err on the side of team's that are getting destroyed. I'd guess the league wants to keep games close and some viewers from giving up.

Our DL was wreaking havoc back there. How many times did Andy Dalton run forward and just lay down? Our guys did surprisingly well.

we were playing with a lead and could run the ball to eat up time. Each time Cincy got the ball I felt they needed to pass to even have a chance. This makes the defense just feel free to rush the passer. Glad to see things pick up. But the team needs more points and better run defense and 3rd down defense in my opinion if we are going to win in this manner.

Confidence,,, and a returning 300 lb pass rushing defensive end can do wonders.

Having DLaw back makes all the difference. Not only does the team finally have a player opponents have to game plan for, but his return also means we have solid depth at every spot on the DL (or we will once Irving returns).

Also Mayowa looks like he is getting healthy and playing a lot better. Thornton is looking better also, there are probably several reasons for that.

Helps the DL when you are up 14-0, 21-0, 28-0. Make the other team one dimensional.

Bengals O line is one of the worst lines giving up 17 sacks so far this year. I think they are ranked 31st or 32nd in that regard. You can search it on the net, the Oline has been terrible this year.

This is in no way a negative towards our dline's effort today. They played hard!

The Raiders are bad too. I just read an article crowing that Joey Bosa had two sacks today and then when you watch the highlight video, the first sack is a full ten seconds after the ball was snapped.
