Clemson DE Da’Quan Bowers: 6-foot-3 and 280 pounds, with 33 1/8-inch arm length. His light frame helps him bring good speed for the position.

Alabama DT Marcell Dareus: 6-foot-3 and 319 pounds, with 33 3/8-inch arm length. He’s projected as a fit for both 3-4 and 4-3 defensive schemes.

Auburn DE Nick Fairley: 6-foot-4 and 291 pounds, with 34 3/4-inch arm length. He’s seen as a top prospect after a sensational junior season in which he registered 11.5 sacks.

North Carolina DE Robert Quinn: 6-foot-4 and 265 pounds, with 34-inch arm length. His good reach and height might be enough to entice scouts despite the fact he missed his senior season after violating NCAA rules.

Looks like Dareus can play ANYWHERE on a 3-4 line. I can't believe he weighs almost 30 more lbs. than Fairley.

More NT Prospects:

Phil Taylor - 6'3", 334 Same size as Senior Bowl
Kenrick Ellis - 6'5", 346 +10 lbs. from All-Star Game
Jerell Powe - 6'2", 335
Chris Neild - 6'2", 319 A beast BUT very short arms (31 7/8")

Yeah agreed.

I'd like to see his speed at Cowboys stadium on a weekly basis though.

That 7-8 lbs Von Miller added must have been tough for him because that kid's body is maxed-out. He's got a tight frame (narrow waist, bubble thighs, calfs, arms, etc) that won't allow for much more weight. Nevertheless, this will likely quell any questions of his size to some teams.

I don't know if additional weight gain was a good thing for Marcel Dareus. Despite displaying a good first step at times, he's not the quickest short-area player. Him adding 10+ lbs to his frame likely won't help the issue.

Nick Fairley at 291 isn't a big surprise. I'm actually glad to see the kid didn't let himself go as he went through the offseason. At 6'4" with long arms and legs, adding another 10-12 lbs shouldn't be an issue at all.

DaQuan Bowers is a 43 DE.

I don't care if we don't plan on moving Ratliff out to DE. This defense needs some bulk and size; gimmie Kenrick Ellis or Phil Taylor.

Dareus is the guy I think we take. It's a position of need, and RJ loves him some Nick Saban.

That's unless Saban doesn't endorse him... But I haven't heard anything along those lines.

Any opinion of a guy like Powe in the 4th round? From what I can make out he's a solid run stuffer and a good football player. He's not marquee, but could be a good rotation guy. (I'm assuming rotation for plays that Ratliff is not playing over the football - or just giving Ratliff and Brent some flexibility to play all over the DL.)

I think a guy like Cory Liuget is a very solid prospect, but probably a better fit in a 43.

Not a big fan of Stephan Paea either.

I think Dareus could very easily be the guy at 9.

I've said it before..............he could put on 10-20 pounds no problem and be a 3-4 NT.

He's already put on 10.

No matter what he's starting on the DL for 8-10 years.

nice sleeper pick , Love those DE's with big mitts to swat passes.

Powe was a preseason projected first round pick. I live in Mississippi and was able to watch his games weekly. He had a slow start in the first few games this year but he came on strong in the second half of the season. He had lost some weight early in the year ( from 340lbs to 320lbs ) which hurt his play. His weight would be better at 330lbs which is the weight that he played at in the later games. He is very hard to move off the line and is a good run-stuffer. He has a little problem with moving from sideline to sideline but he is a linemen and I can see that not hurting his play much. Powe plays with power and he can generate a pass rush. He would be a steal in the 4th.

Good stuff, thanks.

If Robert Quinn is available at 9 Dallas has a very interesting decision. And i bet their phone is ringing off the hook.

Dumb as a rock. I would stay away.
