What? What type of logic is that your'e using there? And Jaylon leading the league in tackles ain't the same as 18 rush stops....

Not only that but the Cowboys are not 32nd in the league in opponent run attempts. And the people behind them and around them all have played 8 games while Lawrence and the Cowboys have played 9 games.
Khiladi's point is stupid but Dallas is #1 in total opponent rush attempts and rush attempts per game.

awsome, 20M for a run stopper on the edge...lets get another one.

I am not saying run stopping is bad...but for 20M you should be racking up sack stats.

what if he is pushing the qb to gregory or the other way around. The season is not over. I think qb's are going to start getting hit

He does all of that. The only people who care about sacks are stat geeks and fantasy players. You get paid 100 million to make plays. Not just for sacks.

I agree. He doesn't make plays at the rate a 100 million dollar player should.

Awww I was looking up the wrong stat it must've been offensive rushing attempts not defense. My mistake. Still makes his point even more odd...

Lawrence has become Greg Ellis, minus the consistent whining. He's a very good all around end, but a good, not great pass rusher as a singular skill.

This is pretty spot on, although I would say he’s definitely a better player than Greg Ellis.

Greg Ellis whined about changing positions.....he was a good professional here. Lawrence is dominant against the run. Greg Ellis especially when he switched to linebacker was more of a pass rusher at that point.

Greg Ellis whined about his contract the last two years he was in Dallas, claiming that he wasn't respected.

Granted over the past 5 games, he has managed to rack up an impressive 3 sacks as well as 2 forced fumbles. But that hardly places him at #1.

Following that massive payday, he still struggles to consistently make an impact on the field. Touche'

Ehh...I mean I don't know if I'd agree or disagree with that. He makes just as many plays as the next defense end he just doesn't do it like a Robert Quinn who does it by getting sacks.

I don't know the answer, but do you know how many yards the opposing team runs on his side compared to other RDE, do you know how many times he misses his assignments and so on compared to other RDE's, do you know how many times he fails to set the edge compared to other DE's and so on?

Is his first goal to rush the passer? What do the coaches ask him

Did you take into account his injury?

Isnt it the team that matters? Look at Quinn's stats this year compared to last years with Dallas. We dont blitz often so we rarely outnumber the offensive line.

DLaw does bring heart. effort and leadership. With potential inexperienced DT's inside him his presence will take much of the pressure and attention.

Id much prefer overpaying for him rather that the undisciplined headless chicken #54.

He gets paid like he’s a superstar player. He needs to be that or come close to it.

I don’t even notice him.

You don't play a defensive end for just "sacks". You pay him based on the plays he makes. He's not a 3-4 linebacker or some pass rushing specialist.
you pay a 4-3 DE for "sack" stats. QB pressures, flushing QB out of pocket and sacking the QB. that's what you want in a 20M a year DE. run stopping DEs are easier to find and shouldn't cost more than 8-10M a year...

But you do know that Lawrence grades out well in pass rushing stats though right? He's not just "stopping the run" lol.

So true ........Ellis was solid, not great but you knew he was coming to play every game. Now about that whining and batching .....never stopped (LOL)
