DLaw meeting with the Cowboys on Friday

This is really stupid. DLaw always showed up. He’s one of the best run defenders in the league. A bunch of ignorant fans believe a DE has no value if he isn’t getting 10 sacks per year. You need pass rushers, but if you want to be a good team, you must have stout run stoppers like DLaw and Kneeland. That said, I would have no problem if they let him walk and drafted another bigger run stuffing DE. But you cannot have two guys like Parsons at DE. If you did, good teams would never pass and wouldn’t need to.
 
Lol...PAY HIM JERRY!! Toy Tank has been robbing this team for a long time, might as well pay him again. Captain Tired, finally healthy until he doesn't feel like playing in week 4.

Huh? I think you may have replied to the wrong post. I didn’t say anything about being a rookie or leadership. My point is I would like Lawrence back if he accepted a rotational role and a contract reflecting that role. He’s good against the run, which we need, and he can a good bridge player while we develop Kneeland and/or other draft picks. I think decent cheap defensive lineman (Lawrence and Williams) that we can rotate in and out would be a good idea so I’m hopeful we get him back. But obviously for the right price. Like 5 million at the most, if that. So I hope it works out for the right price. If it doesn’t then I don’t think it would be a massive loss.

He didn't show up after he was cleared to play last season when he said, "Nah". He's fine for chump change, otherwise let him go do "little things" elsewhere.
 
This guy is a business decision maker.
He's old he's often injured, I don't particularly like his attitude.

I guess I would keep him for 5 million a year.

That said I see this guy on the commanders next year just saying

I introduced a relevant element that people just account for in potential talent because of youth. Elements of leadership are very affect team play because of team play focus. Leadership is forged in fire.

You didn't pick up this very identible element in new scheme and coaching staff establishing team standards and cohesion.

I nowhere is just new guys coming into with fan smiley faces.

Luckily for them, this is one of the deeper DT draft classes in recent memory. Not only does it have Graham, an elite prospect any year, but it has a handful of future starting DTs littered throughout the top 50. Current consensus boards are showing a glut of talent sitting between 25-50 this year. If things stand as they are now, it could position the Cowboys nicely in Round 2.

Even with Osa Odighizuwa possibly returning, Dallas is in need of both a starting 1-tech to position alongside him and a pressure player to platoon with him. Former first-round pick Mazi Smith has improved, but to many he’s still a ways away from being considered starting caliber. Finding a bulky body capable of holding down the fort against the run is imperative for Matt Eberflus’ system. The Cowboys can’t afford to be neglectful here or they run the risk of getting run over again in 2025.
 
This meeting is no different than the meeting they had with Zeke's agent during the 2023 Combine. It's a respect thing since he has been a long time Cowboys player and a good soldier.

I can't see him returning. He will likely seek one more decent payday and a chance to win a SB before he retires.
 
Cool. Maybe he can continue to tell rookies to not pay any mind to the head coach because Jerry is the man.

I really don’t care if he comes back or not. The next time this team wins anything of significance he ain’t gonna be on it.

He's still a good player, especially with the emphasis now on fixing the run. I would def welcome him back for the right price.
