DLaw meeting with the Cowboys on Friday

He's still a good player, especially with the emphasis now on fixing the run. I would def welcome him back for the right price.
The question is, what is the right price? Older player, injury risk, not a huge stat guy...what does Canter see as his market value is the gonna be tough to figure out. I know Canter said the Cowboys already know what it would take to re-sign DLaw, but should Dallas let him go find his market price and come back to Dallas for a chance to match?

Cowboys have treated him very well. If he wants to return, it should be a very friendly team deal. The Cowboys have to be prepared for him to leave though and take the comp pick.
Cowboys should view him as a rotational player if they want him back. At his age I'm not giving him 20 mil a year.

Everything I am hearing, including this latest comment from his agent, tells me DLaw is looking to get paid, or overpaid I should say. Solid player but I think his prime has past and while he may have another year left in him, I don't want to give him $20 million.

I’d guess he gets a 1Y/8M deal somewhere.

We are on the hook for 7.5M in dead cap.

In the movies when the world is in trouble they get a bunch of super heroes back together to save the day In this toilet organization they get the Hot Boyz back together.

Why wouldn't he? The entire NFL watched Jerry make an average to mediocre QB the highest paid player in NFL history. If I were on that roster I would try to do the same thing.

Before anyone comments, this is in no way an endorsement for D-Law. It isn't.

he's getting paid looking to get paid for making a few good tackles for loss in stopping the run, that's about it

D Law is a good player. But he is also in the training room a lot. And at 32, he would be a decent vet addition on any roster, but he simply isn’t worth a huge investment based on his lack of availability.

His injury last season and inability (or unwillingness) to get back to the field is a big red flag.

So you are saying he doesn't still play football after being Pro Bowl the prior season. Yea, he knows himself and still able to answer the opening whistle.

I don't call out mighty white of you.

When bullets are flying, oh he shows up strongly still. I imagine some of his hair color has changed a little. I lost some hair and still served in service for 24 years and made all unit runs also.

How old was Darrell Green before he retired? Did he keep up?

He was Pro Bowl the previous year and went through what happened in SF this past season as well.

If we can get him on cheap I'm fine. In all honesty I don't think we can find a FA better than him right now.

I don't know what the players think about Dak's contract, but I am trying not to think like Jerry. I am only thinking of what I would do at this point. Trying to rationalize Jerry's behavior is a fools errand.

Be honest now. All this is looking at the calendar and if a Lombardi, boo's and blame on Jerry. Move to New York.

I have been around since day one, and still a FAN! :starspin:
