They never thought Weeden was the answer lol. Weeden was a cheap solution to a backup qb position after Kyle Orton burned them. They invested 700,000 in him. This team was simply trying to take advantage Romo's prime and trying to add as much talent as possible. At the time it was about getting him a better defense and players around him. Backup quarterback didn't fit that.

So the idea never occurred to Garrett and company that a 35 year old QB coming off two back surgeries might get hurt?

Yikes!!!

Not making excuses, just stating facts, they killed him by switching him to the other DE spot and expecting him to bulk up and take on multiple defenders.

the thing is with gregory we saw some flashes before he got hurt. plus he needs to grow into his frame a little more and get 100% healthy before i judge him. trust me, i'm not one of these guys who has him in the HOF already. right now lael collins is the only rookie i'm 100% pleased with.

lawrence, has played a lot of snaps this year. how many times has he flashed to you? i can only remember the lions playoff game last year. other than that, he hasn't gotten to the qb. if you're not going to pressure the qb, at least be good at stopping the run like anthony spencer. he's even worse at that! his lane discipline was atrocious in the eagles game. i dont see any bright spots with this kid.

Byron Jones called, he has your glasses. Might want to grab those and look again. ;)

Lawrence has definitely had some flash plays. There was a 2-3 game stretch, including the Falcons and Eagles (first game) where he was in the backfield quite a bit. There were even threads praising him. He needs to do more, I agree, but he was hurt a big part of last year and then asked to play a completely different role this year. He deserves that third year look, for sure.

8 games in I have yet to see DLaw show he's building off the playoffs. Should we be concerned? To not see much improvement at all is worrisome.

He and Mincey are easy to forget they still play. The front 4 was supposed to be dominant. Not so much

Getting trapped inside and still looking for the edge..lol.

I know it's fun to say everybody sucks when we're not happy, and Lawrence has been a disappointment so far this season overall (along with a couple of other defenders), but the guy has had a couple of good game for us during this stretch, too. He's not a bad player, and he hasn't been a wasted pick. He's just been a disappointment to-date.

Kind of a bummer when both of my teams, Miami and Dallas, were preseason favorites to get to the QB, only to lay eggs throughout the season.

People keep saying he's "solid" but after the game you can't remember him even playing.

This ^^^ he has changed his style and basically playing a new position and scheme. I fully expect him to have a huge contract year when the time comes so we can over pay for for 1 year of productivity.

Who cares? The fact of the matter is this guy is right on the verge of being an elite quarterback. He might take the freaking Raiders to the postseason. He's special. We could've had him. Yeah others can say that too, but not every team is in dire need of a quarterback like we're to replace Romo. Just because you need an edge rusher doesn't mean you reach for one.

Carr may have never been in that position if he was on this team. First of all, Romo's contract pretty much guarantees he is our QB for two seasons past this year. IF we would've drafted Carr, he would of sat basically all of last season minus a game and just now seen the field. Impossible to say he would've been as special if he didn't get a chance to play.

"Special"? You're going a bit extra for Carr. He's having a solid season don't get me wrong but we haven't seen anything from Carr to suggest he's special yet.

Hardy as of now hasn't been resigned.

Well take Hardy off. I still have more pressing needs when Lawrence is a 2 year pro and Gregory is a rookie. Now that being said, if are sitting there at the draft and the best player available is a pass rusher i'd take him. But I take best player available. I'm not sure how smart or wise it is to take a right defensive end early in the draft. Especially when you already have one.

Dude bulked up too much. He doesn't have that quick first step he had a season ago. If he was a third or fourth rounder it would be fine because for the most part he's been solid against the run, but he's a second round pick we traded up for. One sack is inexcusable. Could've had Derek Carr. DEREK CARR. Let that sink in.

Solid against the run? Dude cannot contain.

Thing is, even last year, he didn't really have a quick first step. He had a couple of nice plays late in the year, but he was injured for a lot of it and even when he got back, he was a no show for weeks.

I think we'll be lucky if he ends up Anthony Spencer 2.0.

Spencer was an outstanding run defender. That's a big role playing on that side. D Law has had several outstanding games this year. But since it hasn't been a sackfest, many fans don't think he's doing well

I said for the most part. Sunday night he was definitely horrific in both phases. When you trade up for a guy in the second round you're expecting more than one sack halfway through the season.
