DLine vs Bucs

The Cowboys were ahead on the scoreboard with 7 seconds remaining in the game.

The Super Bowl champion Bucs returned all 22 starters.

The Cowboys defense in 2020 was the worst in history.

The Cowboys have a new D-Coordinator and had 3 returning starters on defense. One of those starters only had 11 starts in his career.

On the long TD pass to WR when covered by CB Brown, there was a deep Safety on that side of the field.
- The slot WR was on the same side as WR Brown with CB Lewis covering him.
- Both WR Brown and the slot WR ran straight downfield with the slot WR cutting inside about 20 yards from the line of scrimmage.
- CB Lewis fell down and the deep Safety on that side had to come up to cover the slot WR because Lewis was on the ground.
- CB Brown was playing trail coverage on WR Brown because the scheme had a deep Safety committed to help him.
- No D-Coordinator can scheme around the Nickel CB falling to the ground 20 yards downfield.

The scheme was not the problem.
I like this.

Now if we can stop dropping like flies we might just be ok.

I thought the defense played a pretty good game
I credit the addition of some talent, scheme and maybe just better motivation
We need much more talent on the Dline to become a really good defense but if one game says anything then we are better than we were last year. Though it would be hard to be any worse

Snap Counts vs Bucs:
66% ….. Lawrence
57% ….. Gregory
42% ….. Armstrong
37% ….. Basham
15% ….. Anae

55% ….. Odighizuwa
46% ….. Watkins
43% ….. Urban
31% ….. Bohanna

On the last Bucs possession where they were down by 1 point, DLaw played 2 snaps at DT.
- Gregory and Armstrong were at DE. Both standing up.
- On one of those Parsons was up on the line between DLaw and Gregory.

Since our current DTs lacked pass rush i was all for moving DLaW inside as a nickel interior rusher ...justin tuck like mismatch o_O

Lewis and Brown are starting to get on my nerves. How many more busted plays before they are called out and taken out? Never understood the Lewis hype. Brown is a bench player.

That Anae is unlikely to start even with DLaw and Gregory out...
starting wont matter its DEBC lol we don't have starter so they will rotate pretty evenly im betting until one has shot hand and takes the job..

The 2 biggest contributors won’t be there this week.
