As for not wanting him, I agree who wants an elite RB pshh

Not a need? look at my sig... enough said. The Panch;1990058 said:Folks need to start thinking with their heads and not their oozing eyes at his highlight reel. McFadden is not a NEED for us. CB and WR are. The smart teams like the Colts, Steelers and yes, the Cheats, add to their team based on need, not individual excellence that would create cap hell.
It seems like people forget our offense is based around Romo and passing the ball and we have major issues with our receiving core and it's gonna start to rear its ugly head when Owens reaches the end of his prime. Don't assume he's the iron man cause of how fast he heals. The fact is he's about to be 35 and isnt getting any faster.
McFadden would be a fine pick-up for us if we had a need at RB, but we dont. We have a need at a back-up RB. The RB class is too deep this year to break bank and give up draft picks for someone who's unproven and most importantly, not a need.

I also see lots of talk about all these holes and yet I look at the team and I see a few holes like #3 CB, and RB
Obviosuly RB would be filled you saying you MUST draft a CB in rd 1 to fill a #3 role?

you mean like the Colts who spent another 1st rounder on a WR last yr, even though they had two pro bowls already there and tons of cap money invested in both?

did you see anything in him that made it look like he was slowing down last yr? the guy arguably had his best year ever

I could say the same thing about the CB position couldnt I? We have two good starting CB's, the need is for a nickel CB or a DB who can swing between CB and S...that type of player could easily be drafted after the first rd...and given the propensity of WR's who are drafted in the first rd and do nothing for a yr or two, it could be said that would be almost a sure wasted pick for 2008

dbair1967;1990221 said:we dont have that many holes dude...we were 13-3 and have a dozen or so probowlers...this team isnt the 1989 or 2001 Cowboys
we need a nickel CB, maybe a developmental safety, another RB and maybe help at WR, though our passing offense was overpowering until Romo hurt his hand and Owens sprianed his ankle, so its definitely debatable whether we need alot of help there and its certainly something that could be put off until next yr...and honestly if I were the Cowboys I'd rather wait till free agency next yr and nab a proven WR than draft one late in the first rd and cross your fingers that they work out (when most dont)
if we didnt have two good starting CB's I could see people insistance on drafting one in the first rd, maybe even two CB's pretty early...but we do have two good CB's, and people need to quit with the tired argument of "well they both missed games last yr!!!"...you dont make draft plans (especially on early picks) with the idea you are planning on starting guys getting hurt and needing backups...nickel CB's can be had in other rounds besides round one...even if we traded up for McFadden by using both 1sts and a 3rd, we could easily land a good CB prospect in round two because the CB crop is pretty good this yr
