..I'm not talking about his baseball prowess..since Bo didn't play baseball for Oakland, too.
Just keeping it to football. I think McFadden is the equal of Jackson in Davis' mind. He already is in the coaches that have seen or coached both. I'd tend to take their word for it, thanks. Plus I've seen both play and I believe it.
As far as football is concerned. That's how good he could be. Would you really pass on that if it was there for you..? Oakland won't.
And as for wanting to see McFadden run over a catcher, I can't imagine that would be too much of a defining separator from Jackson, as I've seen McFadden run over, around and thru multiple DEs and Lbers in a single play.
Several times a game. So not sure about the point, except that because Jackson played two sports professionally, that just makes him better than McFadden in every way..?
Not sure I buy that, either. At least not as an NFL RB.
And as far as speed..there is 'track time fast' and there is 'football speed fast' and I'd say that McFadden is extremely 'football speed fast' and moreso than Jackson was.
As for Oakland not wanting to grab him before we do, I still stand by my comments.
I think that the potential of McFadden as a multi-year Pro Bowl RB with a quality team is overwhelming.
If he ends up with a poor team as he probably will, his progress and career could very well be slowed or dulled. If he doesn't have a good OL, he'll suffer.
If he doesn't have an offensive coordinator that will design the plays to feature his skills, he'll struggle. If the team doesn't have a passing attack to make the running game not be the sole feature of an offense built around him..
..he'll struggle.
But not nearly if he gets to an established team with those qualities already there.
