Yeah. I think you may be right. And even though I wan to see a few "Arms" in camp, I may be inclined to take the same gamble. --- But............... We need QBs. We need viable franchise QBs now! Romo isnt going to make it too much longer. But thats guess work. Who really knows?

I just know its coming soon. This year , next, maybe 3 years from now. I want to be ready with a QB that we have developed in our system.... That is easier said then done ! I know.

I think romo and possibly dez and written are gone in 2018

He's certainly tier-1, whether that's 5 or more WRs imho.

Just like our offense uses him incredibly well near the goal line (Which may be a Romo/Dez thing more than the offense), it can be argued we don't do much at all to help via scheme outside of the goal line as we have that "man beat man" system. Maybe in another system he goes nuts.

I do think you have to give some props to Hopkins - that's incredible with 4 different QBs, considering how much we speak about the QB/WR relationship.

I just don't get us having a losing record at the stadium since it opened.

We literally have one of the worst home field advantages in the entire league. We would probably do better being a 6th seed in the playoffs compared to being a #1 seed because I highly doubt we could win back to back playoff games at home.

Its just embarrassing how bad we are in our own home stadium.

Interesting on the practicing at ATT deal, but probably one of those, it's not worth 'turning the lights on' for just to practice.
Hmmm..

You would think the cost of not winning in ATT Stadium would out-weigh any electric bill.

Especially when you can open the roof.

The lights are for TV.

Not practices.

Sounds like an idea long overdue.

I'm sure there's a little more involved than Jerry grabbing the keys to the place and flipping a switch. But yeah I'd try it, maybe just as superstitious thing

It is a quiet stadium, but so was Texas stadium...our fans have never been 'raucous'

ya think..

I agree but that Stadium has become a curse instead of blessing.

I attended the Cotton Bowl Days and all of the Texas Stadium days..

but ATT&T is the worst venue for this team I've ever experienced.

I love the concept..but that is all it is..a marketing concept.

Not a Hpme Field.

we have more visiting fans than home fans making their presence known.

It's just got to be intimidating for our team.

I think they need to practice there..

I realize they need multiple fields to practice..but some needs to be done at ATT&T.

Just my feelings after all this time.

I mean we always hear about where Training Camp is going to be touted..

practice needs to happen there, too.

Very well said. I began a huge study on Dez in 2013 which included recording Un-searchable statistics by viewing his all 22 snaps and 12 others who were considered to be the upper echelon.

It ended up being too massive of a project to finish but I got through enough to definitively say that we were the worst at helping our own guy.

Now, whether that's based on his ability to pick up the playbook/run routes, I can't say for sure. That said I'd bet that it's not on Dez.

They give him opportunities on the goal line which is the most sane thing our coaches do. But other than that? 9 route almost every damn passing play-- right into the teeth of a double team.

And by my record, because of this, he was the most doubled receiver, by far in the league that year.

And I doubt that's changed since.

Not surprised your analysis on Dez running the 9 route the majority of of the time.

There was another article a year ago that said the Cowboys ran the most go routes in the NFL which is about as unimaginative at you can get. I'm sure it worked great for Don Coryell when he had HOF talent with Charlie Joiner, Wes Walker, John Jefferson, and Kellen Winslow but I'm not sure it works anymore.

Wait, Kellen Moore is a veteran now?

Will be 27 years old before the start of the 2016 season. It will be his 5th year in the NFL.

Why do people keep acting like he is some young kid just beginning to develop his full potential?

Maybe because he has only played in like three NFL games?

He's a backup NFL QB -- mainly a 3rd stringer. Going into next season he will have held a clipboard for half a decade in the NFL including 4 training camps, tons of a preseason play, etc.

Backup players who don't play a lot can and often are 'veterans'.

I feel like I am being knit-picky about the word. I get your gist -- I'll leave it at that.

You mean Wes Chandler. Wes(ley) Walker was a speed demon with very bad eyesight with the Jets.

I swear to God reading some of you guys idiotic posts helps me to understand why so many people hate cowboys fans. So now because of Bryant having a down injured year he was never a top 5 wr and we should look at cutting him? Smh you guys make it an embarrassment to say I'm a cowboys fan.

A few years ago Dez was an emerging talent with top 5 potential. Now he's still great but getting long in tooth and passed up by younger guys. It's like he jumped from being almost there to over the hill without actually ever being top 5.

Another prisoner of the moment here

Is that you Al davis?

Romos cap hit will be 8.9 mil if hes cut and will save 16.3 mil he will be 38 when the season starts.
Dez cap hit would be 8mil and save 8mil. He IMO would be a june cut if they decided to cut him. Or just release him in 2019 and save 12mil. He'd be 29 in 2018.
Witten would be a UFA and i think he retires after 2017.

Currently no but overall absolutely, the only person i would put over him is Antonio Brown. I do feel that if Dez were on any other team with a real OC he would have highlight plays every week on Sportscenter.

Just can't be afraid to throw it to him when he's covered.
