This is completely unrelated to anything, but using my super elite awesome web hax0ring skillz, I just discovered that these smilies are actually derived from a single image containing others we didn't know about! My last 10.5 years on this forum have been a lie! Behold, all smilies in their full glory:

Players have media obligations. In fact if they don't speak they are fined.

Are you new to football?

In his defense, I'm sure that many who follow the NFL might not be aware of this, and I probably wouldn't expect anyone to.

Same, but I know my reason for not being able to sleep -- gotta finish up a project that I kinda sorta promised my supervisor would be done a few days ago and I kinda sorta still haven't started it... lol.

I have been in similar situations before and that is not a good feeling! I truly have no reason for my insomnia tonight.

No chance Orlando Scandrick will hold a grudge against Church for saying the truth. None at all. :)

Them's fighting words to Scan because all words are fighting words.

Players are never obligated to criticize their teammates, justifiably or not. Welcome to class.

Scandrick complains about playing time = WHAT A GUY! I love that he has that fire!!!
Mo complains about playing time (being demoted) = HE'S A BABY! Back it up on the field!!!

Love the double standard as it shows how most people feel about these two players....IMO, they BOTH should be speaking out and earning their playing time because they both did things to limit it

Scandrick never left practice and shot his mouth off to the media about how totally awesome he was, and how the coaching staff was totally mean in how they told him he wouldn't be starting.

There is a difference. Also, Scandrick is actually a very talented corner. MO should be taking notes because right now he couldn't hold Orlando's jock.

I think what people fail to understand, is that the fact that Scandrick came back and expected to start is precisely what makes him who he is. The chip he carries around is what's taken him from "That guy that fell to the 5th round", to snatching a job from a former 6th overall pick.

Of course he deserved his punishment and of course he shouldn't have been on the field, but the fact that he had the audacity to show up and demand his job back is exactly why he got his job back.

I agree, but I also like Church saying you want to be on the field do all the things you need to do.

I don't pretend to know the coverage assignments but on one the passes Claiborne got beat on Church wasn't within ten yards of anybody. It seems like on a deep pass the safety would at least be in the vicinity of the ball when it is his side of the field.

The difference is one backs it up with his play on the field ... see how that works?

You must be fun at parties.

And I mean that in all seriousness too. Seems as though you'd be able to hold interesting and intelligent conversations (and this is in no way a jab at the person you were quoting either) :)

One thing I've learned about speaking is this: People love stories. Life is full of experiences and stories. When people learn to tell their stories (and we all have them) it makes listening to people that much more interesting.

And I wasn't trying to put anyone down. Just a little education. I like it when people clarify things for me because it makes me wiser. I used to pronounce post humous as post-humorous until someone corrected me. Doh!

You just stated you don't know coverage assignments. We have no idea what coverage or play was called and that could be why he wasn't within 10 yards of the play.

He wasn't within ten yards of any receiver but he was the closest other defender. At a minimum, once the ball was released he could have started trotting in that direction. In case Claiborne missed a tackle or something.

Sure Church can feel that way, and he has a point

But, Oscan, trouble or not, is our Best DB, and best defensive player right now. He needs to be out there.

Exactly.

That, and he's our Best DB. For Claiborne or even Carr to get more snaps vs him, is disrespectful.

Church is and has been a liability in coverage. He will have to be replaced if the team is serious about the S position (sure isn't currently). Church is just too slow in coverage. He can tackle...that's about it. We haven't played a real QB yet...he is an ideal 3rd S. The talent has been so lacking back there that we seem to embrace him for just that reason alone.
