Adam 'Pacman' Jones will start vs. Texans

Adam "Pacman" Jones worked at left CB with the first-team defense tonight. Wade Phillips said after practice that Pacman would start there Friday night against the Texans.


"I just think he needs to play, and he's shown he can play," Phillips said. "He had a good game last week and needs some more."


First-round pick Mike Jenkins started at left CB the first two preseason games. Jenkins will continue to play on that side in the substitution packages with Pacman moving across the field.


Phillips said he'll evaluate things game-by-game at cornerback, but it's pretty clear that Pacman will start if Terence Newman doesn't recover from a groin pull as anticipated.


"I'm just happy to be out here competing and I'm getting a chance," Pacman said. "Whoever comes out there, I'm ready to compete. Let's see what happens on Friday."

About time we get a look at the start of the game, this is crucial for Pacman, this is the closest to a "game" hes going to get before he lines up opposite Braylon Edwards week one.
