Garrett has to do his part I would agree. He did a very good job in 07 but did not adjust much in 08. I do think the guy knows and understand the game and I think he will turn out to be a very good OC in this league. I know you love pounding on him you do so on all most every single post you make.
Of course I'm pounding on him. If TO was getting blasted everyday, than Garrett needs to be afforded the same 'oppurtunity', because it was allegedly TO that caused Garrett to fail. Roy Williams should not be the main focus of discussion, and if he is, it wreaks of hypocrisy, considering everybody, including the media, was all about how many 'weapons' we have and how Garrett was forced to be one-dimensional because of TO. Garrett should be on every headline in Dallas, as far as it concerns the Cowboys. The expectations need to be set high for this clown. He is the brilliant Princeton alum, who has been a player-coach for years. He is the guy that replaces Wade when all is said and done. Hell, he is allegedly Jerry's head coach right now, with Wade just being a figure-head. All of the sudden, we are just suppose to forget about him or lower his hand in the whole pciture and put expectations on Roy Williams, as if it is all on Roy Williams to save this offense. But I thought we could win without being so WR-oriented? The pressure needs to land straight on his shoulders. This team needs to find out if he is what they think he is. It isn't about learning curve and on-the-job training anymore.

I did not say he was above being criticized then again you do it every single day on almost every single post, I think we get it you don't like him. I do think he understand what is going on and that he will have to do a better job of adjusting within games and within the season. Those who have worked around Garrett do think highly of him but that does not make him mistake free or perfect. He along with other members of the staff do need to do a better job and player will also need to stand up and put in the extra time and effort to improve their play as well.

I hate the title of this thread. I understand that was probably the title of the blurb, but it is not what Aikman said.

The team set records the year before Garrett got here as well, so it's not like he built this offense.

I have yet to see a single thing on Garrett's resume that earns him the praise he receives. He needs to earn it like everybody else on this team, the dude has had a silver spoon in his mouth his entire life.

He had one good game as a player and coached an offense that was already soaring for one good year. That is literally all he has to his name as a football player and coach. When you ask people to justify why they love the guy, all they can say is "temperament" and "smarts".

I think if we're going to move forward with this whole team unity concept and everyone earning their stripes, then it has to be that way for everybody.

I'm sure you don't see anything about Garrett you like again that is all you do is come here and moan about Garrett. I disagree with you I think he understands what is going on but the proof will be in how they play if this offense gets turned around then you will not have much to moan about if it doesn't then I think we can look for changes within the coaching staff Garrett included. I have watched the NFL long enough to see coaches go from morons to brilliant then back again in the eyes of the fans because this is a what have you don't for me lately mindset people tend to have. While he did not so call install the offense I have seen a lot of good calls and risk Garrett has made within the games.
