If Watkins can put on another 15 lbs he could be an interesting SS prospect. With his 4.4 speed he would be the fastest SS on the roster.

The only problem is that he may only last half a season or less, until he broke his neck leading with his head when he tackles.

Will be real interesting to see if there's a battle at the FS position between Brown & Watkins and/or whether one of them becomes RWilliams official backup at SS. Breer's comment about Brown making a contribution this year could mean he often replaces Roy in one or more of the packages we use in passing downs.

I've always thought that he should've been converted to play WR the moment he was drafted. His body just isn't built for the safety position.

But Carp has shown in a couple of games, the Seatle Playoff game for one, that he can do a job. Watkins never has.

Watkins has made some plays. Hes got a few picks in his first couple of years and he has had that blocked field goal return.

Carpenter can't even get on the field. His 1 game just doesn't do it for me. 1 game in 2 years.

Watkins has as many tackles in each of his 2 seasons as Carpenter does in his 2 seasons combined.

Because of that, I expect nothing of Carpenter. I don't hate the guy for it but I sure wish the team would have went in another direction with that pick.

Hopefully he at least sees the field this season.
