This camp? He plays against our first string line for the most part in this camp.

Last year during camp.

Fact is Spencer is an OLB with 4.5 sack no matter how you spin that it sucks and Had Ellis put up those number anyone with an ounce of sense would say it as well. Spencer to this point has shown little he is a 1st rd pick I kind of expect him to play like one and thus far he has not. His run stopping please the Raven ran back to back plays on him and he was knocked out of the play both times but everyone want to lay it on Hamlin who yes derserves to get called out as does Spencer. As I said I'm hoping Spencer has a great year and I have not given up on him but I'm not going to pretend he has been getting the job done he hasn't.

This shows you know nothing of what you speak. He went too far upfield on one play, also getting his hands on the runner, and held his ground playing his position on the other. If you don't know this then there's no point for a debate

I was all for drafting of Spencer and while I have not given up on him he needs to start producing. 4.5 sacks 2 years is lousy I don't care if you are sharing time as an OLB in a 3-4 he needs to get it going.

:star: I felt the same way about taking Spencer. Now that Ellis is gone, Spencer needs to step it up, simple as that.

Again, if you prefer peaches and cream articles about how our somewhat underachieving football team is performing, you might be looking in the wrong place. Try Mickey Spagnola. I am sure he'll give you all the non-insulting positive fluff you might desire.

No, I don't want that. I don't want that anymore than McJackarse's crap.

What would be great is if the beat reporter, actually just reported what was going on instead of finding the need to be edgy by taking such a negative slant on things.

In other words, I don't give ONE **** about what that turd thinks about anything, and his writing should be purely informative because that is his job: to report. He is not a commentator. He is a reporter. So tell us what is occurring and what the team says. I don't need to have everything that comes out of the idiot's pen to be pathetically 'edgy' with snark and insults. I don't need to have every report tinted by his 'coachable' garbage or his need to mock Romo or Newman or Baber (friggin Pro Bowl players catching **** from this scrub). I just want the news.

Screw him. He's a POS. And he needs to get canned. He has dogged everything about this team under the guise of "reporting." And that's BS.

Write the subject matter neutrally. But if you want to offer commentary, don't be so pathetically snarky about it. It's unamusing, tired, lame, and quite simply, obnoxious.

Timmy apparently recognizes his abject absence of any discernible ability as a journalist, so he treats his job like it's a damned message board with his information. It's a disgrace to the DMN to have that sub-moron working under their bylines.

That is all I'm asking as well. I have no sour grapes of Ellis being let go, the team did what they felt needed to be done and I think this team needed an attention getter for players and think letting TO, Roy, Tank and Ellis go did just that I think players took notice. For Spencer I want to see him develop into a top notch player but I would be kidding myself to think he has been that thus far.

True, but where exactly is MacMahon trashing Spencer?

I guess this is another case of our fanbase whining about what they see is an overly critical media. I'd rather sift through the articles and make up my own mind than read any more of some people's whining about how they think the media is "out to get" the team. Things like that happen when you don't win when you are expected to.

:hammer:

The author even made a few excuses for Anthony Spencer, stating that Greg Ellis took up some of his playing time and that his position drops back in coverage quite a bit.

He goes on to say that it is "reasonable" to expect Anthony Spencer to increase his sack totals.
