All Amendola did in college was make plays. He may have an uphill battle, but he seems to have a lot of heart and sometimes that makes all the difference. We'll see.

Amendola was out of the Woodlands a powerhouse 5A Texas school and got plenty of attention as you mention.

Until they run into Lufkin... :D

I can't wait to hear Larry Allen's Hall of Fame speech.

He'll probably walk up there with a dip of snuff in his mouth, grunt, mumble "thanks" and go back and sit down.

That would be so perfect, I would cry.

And undrafted free agents. Those seem like 4 reasonable comparisons to me, why is it rediculous? ;)

Before I comment, I think Tony Romo should win a playoff game before you put him on Mount Rushmore. ;)

My bet is that he just nods in approval and sits down...

"Thanks" is a little wordy for him...

Even more entertaining would be if Strahan was trying to get to the podium and he couldn't get around Allen. Eventually Strahan would give up and fake injury.

Welker is everyone's darling right now. The one player on this team most like him is TG. I don't know if TG has the lateral movement that Welker has but he's as quick at least and definitely faster.

Why anyone doesn't want this guy back is beyond me. I don't want him back like last year. But man if this guy can play enough this year like we know he can play, then wow. This team will be indefensible.

Wes Welker is a role player, a system player. If Amendola is a Wes Welker type player and we plan on using him as such to some degree during this season (two big ifs) then we'd certainly have to become more of a spread offense to accomodate that skill set.

Players like Amendola come out of Texas Tech because they run a pass-happy spread offense at that school, which suits the Welker prototype obviously (see: 2007 New England Patriots).

Name one person on Mount Rushmore who ever won a playoff game...

If you were watching those games and saw Romo as the primary reason for losing both, it could be your cable.

My suggestion?

Get rid of that dingy old cable and switch to Directv! Directv will provide your tv with the clearest digital picture imaginable. So, stop missing the details, like how some of the rest of the team #$&@ during those games and make the switch! You'll be glad you did!

To have Directv installed in your home, call 1-866-443-8869 or go to www.directv.com. You'll get 50 bucks off your bill and I'll get 50 bucks. What's not to love? :)

I hope the kid brings a degree of toughness, that's the only way he will make it. With playing the slot, he will get beaten up a lot, has to take on LBs hits every now and then, if he can deal with that, and get a degree of seperation, then he's on his way.

Every report that I've read on this kid has said he's about as tough as they come. FWIW.

Thank you. I get kinda tired of so many people being on Welker's jock. I mean the dude was playing inside Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth, in front of some decent pass catching RBs, and he had Tom friggin Brady feeding him the ball.
How would Welker do if he played for say, a Miami, or a San Diego?
Maybe average about 9 balls a season his first 3 years, and not get any his first two years? Oh, wait, never mind...

Well, I wasn't trying to knock welker, just point out that players like him have to be used correctly and in the right scheme to maximize their potential... after all Welker was good, but not nearly an all-pro in Miami.

Is this Amendoloa just this year's version of now Cards WR Jereme Urban? A lot of hope but nothing special. We'll find out soon in July and Aug.
