Let's just put it this way: Neither Terrell Owens nor the Cowboys exhibited much caution at all during the portion of practice open to the media.

The workout was outdoors, and held in sweats. As Barry posted a minute ago, Owens came out late for practice, just as we were coming on to the fields, with associate athletic trainer Britt Brown at his side. After getting some early work in during passing lines, Owens retreated to the sideline, took off his shoe, and had the tape job around his left ankle sliced off.

Owens then jogged around the stretching lines high-fiving all his teammates. And in early group work, the Cowboys were tossing fade routes up to Owens, requiring the receiver to go up for the ball. He worked with the first group most of the time, and kept close to Brown when on the sideline. Also, the limp he showed on Thursday was, for the most part, gone today.

Bottom line: It's pretty much like nothing's wrong with Owens.

TO should have continue to limp to give giants false sense of hope.

At the very least it should end some of the doom and gloom around here. :laugh1:

I think other than the fact this is a playoff game againt the Giants; the reason I'm so pumped for this game is this is the healthiest we have been for a game maybe all year.

Late last night on NFL channel they showed some very brief footage of what I think was Thursdays indoor practice. They showed about 3 or 4 TO routes, at about 1/2 speed.

I could see a limp and his push off seemed to have a little hitch in it. It was noticeable. From the different reports it was sometimes there and sometimes not on Thursday. I certainly saw some weakness. I saw some Superbowl highlights from the Broken Leg Phili game. TO looked more fluid and stronger in his leg in that game then I remembered. He showed basically no sign of the broken leg injury. The highlights (perhaps dramatically chosen by NFL network) of the practice had me a bit concerned.

It's good to hear a report that he looked improved from Thursday already and is actually jumping up. That is tough to do and the landing can be painful and dangerous with high ankle sprain.

TO still has 2 sleeps. Hyperbaric. Ice. Massage. Rinse Repeat. Then heavy tape and a little freezing before the game and I think TO is 90% if he keeps responding to this higher practice workload. Seems like he's over the hump in the injury healing process and rather than responding badly the high ankle is liking the work.

I read somewhere that there was more swelling BEFORE practice Thursday than after. That is a good sign! Sometimes the blood flow and intense movement helps the healing along faster at certain stages. This is why in past 4-5 years especially physio-therapy is much more aggressive and movement begins much earlier with many types of injuries.

That was old footage they had shown from earlier this season.

Excellent...and still has another 48 hours before game time to get even better.

I think TO's ankle may have surpassed Emmitts shoulder.

Are you sure Big Dog Cowboy?

I don't remember TO limping earlier in the season. They sure as heck made it sound/seem like it was footage from Thursday's practice, which we heard was indoors.

I saw the coverage at about 12:30AM Pacific Time this morning, and it was a bit of a concern. Looked tender, but he was being careful on it, you could tell. If it was from early in the year, then it's all moot of course.

Cheers,

that's pretty good news. With him healthy and TG back there's just no way the NYG should stop this offense.
