I guess it's a mistake to ever underestimate D-Mac Desire around here.
Several people hit the comments section of Cowboys Blog to mention that Michael Turner's arrival in Atlanta means the Falcons are likely out of the running for a tailback in the draft. (Although, if Marion Barber's a better player, as I contended, wouldn't that put the Cowboys in the same boat?)
Anyway, yes, it would seem then that D-Mac could easily slither through the Top 3 picks and that would put the Raiders on the clock with the Arkansas phenom still on the board. The Raiders, yes, could be amicable to a trade.
Still, the trusty draft value chart says that it'd probably take more than just 22 and 28 to get it done. The Cowboys' two first-round picks add up to 1,440 points. The fourth pick is worth 1,800 points, whicch means the Raiders could reasonably ask for the second-round pick (61st overall). And if you go by the letter, if you add that to the total, it still comes to just 1,732.
So let's go by that, if some of you are so in love with D-Mac -- would you deal two firsts and a second for D-Mac? I wouldn't even think about doing that. And indications we've gotten are that Jerry wouldn't either (I know he cites picks 1, 2, and 3, but come on ... read the whole thing and a trade-up sounds pretty unlikely).
