lol at Mavs fans whining still.

I suppose it takes the sting out of choking a finals series away.

I'll agree that the Mavs should've played harder if they really wanted it but...

Wade was getting every single little BS ticky-tack touch foul in the world. plus foul calls where he wasn't even touched...

it was ridiculous.

I am not a Lakers fan, however, Dallas can't compete with them in a 7 game series.

If Kobe keeps playing tired the mavs win in 6, maybe 5. Mavs finally have that 3rd guy outside of Terry and Dirk that can score 20 on any given night, Kidd is finding his shot and putting up triple doubles, Haywood is a double double machine and when you add him along with damp you have the best center combo in the NBA. They weren't the media darlings this season but if they mavs don't atleast make it to the finals it would be a shame. Anyway it would be interesting to remake the all star celeb game into the "All-pro" game where you have guys from the NFL and maybe the MLB play in a match. It'd be nice to see guys like Gates, Peppers, and Romo on the court together.

Who's better?

For starters, I'm watching the Magic-Warriors game.

So I'll go with Howard-Gortat > Haywood - Dampier.

Howard is certainly the best big out of the 4 but every time i see the Magic play Gortat barely got any minutes and was a non factor even when he was on the floor.

So?

Howard + some scrub for 10 minutes a game > Dampier and Haywood.

That's the point. You'd get Howard for 38 minutes a night or whatever. I'd rather have a Center rotation of Dwight Howard and Aaron Gray than Brenda Haywood and Erick Dampier.

Sure, considering he doesn't get into foul trouble and then you'd have to depend on that scrub to play more minutes than you'd want to. All i'm saying is that you have one guy that can get you 15/10 on most nights and another that can grab 10-15 boards on any given night. It's a great combo and it's great depth for when you get into a playoff series.

Yes. The Mavs have a nice Center tandem.

I never said otherwise. They got legit big bodies who can play defense (and don't really need to score with the scoring they have on the team).

But you made the claim it was the best center tandem, which I disagree with. Because Howard + Gortat is a better combo, due to Howard being Howard.

To analogize... would you have rather have a RB tandem of Barber and Felix or Emmitt (in his prime) and whomever....?

You'd obviously choose Emmitt and whomever... because you are going to get HOF production for a majority of the game, sans the few plays he sits out.

I wouldn't say Howard is THAT good yet, maybe when he develops a full offensive skill set. When the Magic made it to the finals it was more due to Rashard+Hedo and the matchup nightmares they created rather than Howard and his play.

I'd take Young Shaq + Gortat over Haywood/Damp in a heartbeat because Shaq could consistently take over games offensively/defensively, but not Howard + Gortat .

Nice words from Caron. I also read Romo does play a bit of soccer during the offseason and is in an indoor league.

that's cool. :)

Back in their high school days, Caron Butler and Tony Romo shared the same basketball court, growing up in Wisconsin.
They were two-fifths of the All-Racine County boys' basketball team in 1998. Butler averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds at Racine's Park High School. Romo averaged 24.3 points and 8.8 rebounds.
"We actually did great against them," Butler said. "We were 2-0 against them."
Butler was named a first-team All-State player. Romo was a third-team pick.
"He was a great scorer," Butler said. "His IQ for the game was unbelievable. He set you up, put you in great situations."
They never played in a game together, even AAU. Butler finished his high school career at Maine Central Institute before going to Connecticut and developing into a first-round pick by Miami. Romo went to Eastern Illinois on a football scholarship and you know the rest of his story.
When Butler watches Romo play quarterback, he sees some of the same things he saw in high school.
"He's a guy out there with great vision, that's dominating," Butler said. "I'm happy for him. He truly is a great dude, hard worker, a guy that comes back to be a pillar in the community, doing a lot of work. I'm truly happy for him."
They have yet to get together since Butler was traded to the Mavericks.
"I'll definitely see him, reach out," Butler said.
