We walked around the French Quarter today after having lunch at the Acme Oyster House and let's just say the fans here will be ready.
First things first, however, I bumped into ex-Cowboys kicker Martin Gramatica and was wondering if he was making a comeback. He said he is in town putting together an affordable housing unit. He said he bumped into Miles Austin a little earlier. Also saw Marshall Faulk and Steve Mariucci walking around Bourbon Street and last night Deion Sanders took in the Hornets-Nuggets game.
But back to these fans. There will be an electric atmosphere inside the Superdome. The fans have been "getting ready' for this game since the sun came up. And just about everybody is wearing a Saints jersey of some kind. One of the local TV stations is already airing a pre-game show and we are three-plus hours until kickoff.
For some light reading here is a Sean Payton story from the Times Picayune.
The 1972 Dolphins will be rooting for the Cowboys tonight as the Saints go for an undefeated season. They also have their eyes on Indianapolis' bid.
