DMN Blog: Comparing T.O. to the Playmaker

Both great WR's in their own right.

Irvin was more team.

TO is more team that some give him credit for.

There is not crime in individuality within the team concept.

Even Bill Parcells said you have to win your individual battles in order to help the team. TO takes great pride in winning his battles.

Agreed. They'll both end up in the hall. Like I said before, Apples & Oranges... Now back to the Denegration of Terrell starring the Unfair Playing Fields. What a great movie.

T.o has more talent than Irvin. You cannot deny that

But

As a complete football player

Irvin is the winner

T.O may have the talent but he doesn't have the skills

TO is not more talented than Irvin. I guess you haven't paid much attention to how well documented it is the hard work TO has had to put in to get to the place he's at today.

Irvin was pure talent the likes every receiver wishes to be, coming straight out of college, and with a really great work ethic to boot. TO has the drive and work ethic (similar to Irvins) to have gotten to the place he's at today, but wasn't half the player he is today when he first came to the pros. Big difference. It took TO awhile to become TO, Irvin was the Playmaker from Season 1. Irvin was the Playmaker from Season -4, the day he first stepped onto a college football field. TO was big lumpy guy in the beginning with flashes of talent.

TO even had Jerry Rice to watch and learn from, and still isn't half the talent Michael was learning and cultivating on his own.
