So I got to the Alamodome a little early and I'm a little bored, and when you're bored, what's better to do than to add up how the quarterbacks have done in the first four practices?

I attempt to chart every pass thrown in seven-on-seven and team drills as a way to make it through some tedious times and to get a feel for what the quarterbacks are doing, who they are throwing to, what kind of routes they're throwing.

For this exercise, however, I just put together the completions and attempts for Tony Romo, Jon Kitna, Stephen McGee and Rudy Carpenter.

And remember, this is completely unofficial and I might have missed a pass or two, not given credit for a sack or pass interference penalty.

Here goes:

Tony Romo - 45 of 65
Jon Kitna - 30 of 47
Stephen McGee - 9 of 13
Rudy Carpenter - 8 of 14

This might become a staple during camp depending on how many times I'm able to chart the throws because I do miss some line play at times.

Romo needs to get that up to 55 of 65 and even higher. It is only TC after all. Kitna needs to be about 37 of 47. I like where McGee and Carpenter are, considering their limited amount of reps.

From my untrained eye: Romo looks fine. Kitna has a strong enough arm, but has been very inacurate. McGee has looked pretty good for a rookie. Carpenter looked confused by the blitz a few times, but has shown more arm strength than early reports led me to believe. I think that McGee will make the roster so I doubt they use a practice squad spot on a QB like Carpenter, but he isn't an embarrasment.

Forget Kitna...give McGee more reps!! Kitna is veteren, I don't think he's needs that many reps.

He's coming to a new team and learning a new offense. If Romo goes down, I want Kitna comfortable.

He needs his reps.

Can we get him a different number please? Our history with #7's isn't very good.

It would be very bad if our secondary gave up 90% completions. The other side better be trying too.

Steve Beuerlein led us to the playoffs in 1991 when Aikman went down with an injury. Randall Cunningham stepped in as a backup QB for us and did fairly well.

Number aren't jinxed any more than colors are.

One of these days I am going to research our records in the white and blue.

I don't believe in curses. I never have. I never will.

You boys are in your serious mode. I was JOKING. :)

Btw, Beurelein led us to the playoffs with less than 50% completion numbers. We also played a bunch of weak sisters in that stretch, and we turned into a run and defense team that finally got exposed in Detroit. Lets not overplay that #7.

Cunningham played backup on a terrible team, and we had a terrible year.

But, back to my original point.... I was kidding.
