Cory Procter will get another start

Wade Phillips confirmed that Cory Procter would start at left guard for the second consecutive game.

Procter (6-4, 308) did not have any blown assignments in the win over the Browns. He got overpowered a few times by NT Shaun Rogers, but that tends to happen when you're butting heads with a 6-4, 350-pound dude.

"He's going to have some physical battles certainly," Phillips said. "He's not the biggest guy, but he will battle you. Part of why we have him is he is real smart. He can call protections himself. I think that's a good reason for him to play."

makes all the calls for drafting much better and wanting to sign any walking Olineman look pretty stupid, huh?

that's why I wait and see and put a little bit of trust in the coaches before I launch off the deep-end

According to Vela, here are the missed blocks from the Cleveland game:

Adams 2
Proctor 4
Gurode 1
Davis 0
Colombo 2

Proctor's 4 missed blocks were double the highest number. Plus, Proctor almost got Romo killed by Shaun Rodgers one time, and when Romo was hit by three guys, one of them was Proctor's guy, along with Flozell's guy. Proctor did some good things in space in the run game, but Dallas was a right handed run team in the preseason and in the first game.

Proctor can block a linebacker, but he struggles blocking bigger defensive linemen. The Eagles will attack him for sure.

Eh? You have seen Kosier against Bigger Lineman, that is good? Its the same result. Kosier is better technician, so probably doesn't get beat that badly, but he gets pushed pretty bad sometimes.

They were a right handed run team last year too. The benefits of running behind Leonard Davis. Also, he had 2 more missed blocks than our all-pro Franchise LT, while battling the best member of the Browns O-Line.

Well, it's a good thing that the Eagles biggest Defensive lineman is 10 lbs. lighter than proctor.

Vela is just another fan with a blog. He doesn't know what Procter's blocking assignments were on every play.

It should be a easier game for Proctor. In addition to being a big time learning experience last week, he will be going against those smaller D-linemen this week.

Wade makes the point in his PC that Proctor knows all the line calls, I would assume that implies that Holland does not yet. Proctor is limited atheletically but knows what the assignments are which will be key with the multiple blitz packages philly always comes with. Holland would probably help the running game more but might totally whiff on an assignment and get Romo killed. Give him a chance to learn the system more. I'm sure Hudson Houck is helping Wade use the most ready player at this point.

I do worry about proctor in the philly game. I guess we will see how well he can pickup blitzes. You know damn well philly is going to blitz the **** out of us. I am sure they will really try to test him.

It didn't take much to see that Procter was very poor against the Browns. This is not good news.

Was it Proctor who replaced Gurode in the last game against the Eagles or Berger? Whoever it was played poorly. Jim Johnson is a master at exploiting weaknesses. I hope Proctor is prepared.

Brad I hope you're ready =/

I don't think they should have announced this in the middle of the week. Should have waited longer Proctors going to have a big target on his back lets see him hold up.

It was Proctor.

However, FWIW-Proctor held his own very well against Kris Jenkins the week after.
