DMN Blog: Cowboys Ground Rules...Running better, not more

ahhh the sounds of defeat

who the hell are you?

he abandoned the run, i dont care what the percentage of the plays was, there was no reason to pass the ball deep on that drive. we were owning them on the ground until martz junior decided to call a bomb to slow hurd.

No the premise of the thread is the effectiveness of the run. Considering their NFL ranking.

You mean you base that observation on whether the 'boys win or lose?

The thread was derailed about Garrett's play calling which in effect is why many believe is the very reason why we lose big games.

Pretty sure at the moment he has a near perfect handle on what kind of team this is. Other than a couple snafus, Garretts been rather impressive this year.

I haven't been too impressed. Inconsistency usually doesn't impress me.

#1 Rushing team

#3 Total offense

You're really reaching to try to bash Garrett now.

The offense was good before Garrett. He really hasn't done anything to say he's all that much better than those before him

Look i wasnt happy with some of the decisions made during the giants game either however i find it very difficult to be upset with garrett at this point in time because it seems to me like hes doing a good job at not only incorporating the run but running the offense as a whole, with the exception of a coupe snafus as mentioned earlier.

The Cowboys are getting major props for averaging 200+ yards per game.

But three questionable play calls somehow suggest that Garrett abandons the run?

That's some logic I hope to never achieve.

Agreed, i think some people are so used to complaining about Garrett abandoning the run that they dont realize he is doing much better with it this season.

But then again, who threw the ball.People can play he said, she said till the end of time and there will still be disagreement over the play call.

The last 2 years the beef was that we ran to many deep pass plays and forced the ball to TO to much. Plays were taking to long to develop and Romo was getting killed, part of that was O-line injuries but the majority was the type of plays being called.

This year it's obvious the pass is making the run excel. Teams expect us to pass, that's why the run is so effective. If you don't agree with the opinion thats ok but to act like you are above it is.... Well.... Did I mention ur pretty???

:signmast: Garrett has been good. The execution at times by the team has really hidden that.

Maybe I'm just pro-Garrett, but for those arguing for us to be a run oriented team...Dont you think we're having the success we are on the ground because we have set the run up from our passing game?

The problem is we're discussing two different things. Cochese suggested that Garrett abandoned the run after three questionable play calls.

When i look at the run/pass ratio, it's virtually even. However, the running backs ability to get to the 2nd level is better. Charge that to better o-line play and downfield blocking.

I'm not acting above anything, just saying Cochese has a very myopic view of this team's performance.

And yes, Queen Latifah is pretty sometimes. :)
