You people that bang on Garrett will do so regardless of what he does. The bolded part above is exactly the way most of the really good play callers in this league go about the first drive or two, its called "scripting plays" and has been done for years.

Dallas isnt scoring on opening drives because they arnt executing. A couple weeks ago we went right down field but Romo missed a wide open WR for an easy TD then Folk missed a FG. Several times we made some plays on drives to move the ball but then had a penalty or missed block etc etc and killed a drive.

That's a valid point. Another example is Barber's fumble vs. the 'Skins. That drive had 7 written all over it.

I'd love to see a trick play on our opening possession to give the offense a lift. Flea-flicker, halfback pass from the wildcat... something. Just don't turn it over, obviously.

With a grand total of 0 points in our last 10 opening possession, what do we really have to lose?
