DMN Blog: Cowboys turned down major trade offer

I cant see them even entertaining a trade for Ware. I think that elimnates him. Just guessing Martellius Bennett imo was probably the player. A team probably offered a two or a three and we probably wanted a one. If it involved players coming here I think you might want to look at the Titans roster, just guessing but it makes sense. Maybe they tried to trade us Finnegan.

Finnegan isn't a big name.

Bennett may have been involved. But, there are numerous good TEs in the draft next year.

I just watched the Jerry PC on DC.com, and at the very, very end, you can hear Dalrymple say, "We'll release the name of the team that called and the player they were in..... (terested in)"

And then it cuts out.

So maybe we'll find out tomorrow who the player was and who wanted him.

Jerry did say that teams were envious of our front seven on defense. I still wonder if it could be Butler, or maybe Miami or New England wanted Hatcher or Bowen.

And BTW, Jerry said about 10 times that our penalties the other day were "an abberition". Guess that's a combination of a vision and an unusual outlying event.:

It will be pretty cool to see who or what was involved. I wonder if cleveland dangled sean rogers or something like that.

A smart GM would say nothing to the press.

we are in trouble then, even when jerry leaves. Stephen jones during the preseason of 08 talked at length about how so many teams wanted our players and how he was fielding more offers than he ever had.

I am with you guys, I dont get why this is made public.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he turned down a major trade offer Tuesday.

Of course he also intimated a player was offered to the Cowboys that could have made a "now impact."

Regardless Jones decided to stand pat choosing to not get into more serious discussions with teams.

"I feel as good about what we can do this year as I did last year when I traded for Roy Williams," Jones said.

Jerry also had a "Big Salad" for lunch.

Nice catch...it'll be interesting to see what was offered. I have a feeling it was either Ware, Bennett or Austin.

No way Jerry says what team offered which player if in fact anyone actually offered anything.

Way to scare teams off.....

Only Marty makes sense. Young and promising so worth a 2nd, Not a Rat/Witten type where it would be giving up on the season to trade them.

Marty to Cincy?

I wouldn't be surprised if a team went after either Austin or Choice.

Yep, and Jerry demanded a Jack Lelanne juicer.

Now that's funny.

It is the showman/salesman in him. He cannot help himself.

More likely the attention HoDog in his psyche.

Me to.

More people should reset their settings to allow 40 posts on one page.

I was thinking that you had so many people on "ignore" that it cut down on the number of pages you see.:D

Guys, can any of you read? Jerry says an impact player was offered to him. He didn't see that an impact player from the Cowboys was going to be involved in the trade.

The way I see it, this sounds like another "2 1st rounders or a 1st and 3rd rounder for an overrated player" type deal. Think Galloway and RW trades. JJ turned it down. JJ is learning to not get man-raped anymore by other GMs.

i like bennett, but it mightve been a smart move to trade him and then draft jermaine gresham who will likely drop since hes out for the season at OU

Butler really hasn't done enough imhumbleo, if it was on the D-Line and not our two main cogs in Ratliff and Ware.....I think you could be right about Hatcher or Bowen.

"Now impact" wouldn't mean draft pick.
