DMN Blog: DeMarcus Ware does not practice/Romo advice to Ware

In the grand scheme of things, football isn't the most important thing in the world.

Ware must examine every single bit of medical advice made available to him before deciding to play. Risking life-long permanent injury is neither worth the millions tied to his contract nor the admiration of his teammates and fans.

What should happen is for his team to dig deep down, find the intestinal fortitude and gut out a win in his absence. At times, inspiration comes not from those who always can, but from those who sometimes cannot. If necessary, this should be one of those times.
I bet it is for Hypnotoad.

This all sounds like a mild cervical strain. If he had a disc, peripheral symptoms or signs, or a boney problem like cervical stenosis then we'd have heard about it already.

Not going out on a limb at all here but an easy call; if he feels like it and has good range of motion without pain then he'll play. There's no risk of permanent injury. He could make the strain worse by playing but he'd likely still be ready for the Skins game.

He'll play most likely.

Don't about the medical terms, but Mike Lombardi on NFL Network pretty much said he will play for sure. Mike has been pretty good source when it comes to players and on teams. He said cowboys are going to rest him at practice to be on safe side and let him go on Saturday since all tests came negative or came all clear rather even from Wednesday.

I hope you're right, jobberone. I hope you're right.

If the tests were done by the Cowboys med staff, Ware probably has 3 fractures in his spine right now.

We're going to lose to NO, regardless of whether Ware plays or not. I'd sit him and let him fully recover. His career is too promising to risk it over an unwinnable game

This is a playoff game and this team needs to treat the next 3 games as such. We lose Saturday and it's all over but the crying.

We need Ware even if he's only 60%, even then he's still better than most pass rushers. He's a warrior, he's been playing hurt all year, and there really is no tomorrow if we lose.

I'm pumped because I think we have a shot to shock the world, and that is exactly the type of win that can catapult a team into and through the tournament.

Agreed, a win here would be a big spoonful of confidence medicine that could boost the team greatly.
