ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The hapless Detroit Lions have lost an NFL-record 25 straight games on the road and seven of nine games anywhere this season. Separating the current version from the franchise's miserable past has become even tougher.

Lions center Dominic Raiola, who contributed to the previous mark of 24 straight road losses from 2001-03, insisted the only time he thinks about the record-breaking skid away from the Motor City is when reporters ask him about it.

Raiola plans to use Dallas' 33-20 win on the road against the New York Giants in its first game since coach Wade Phillips was fired as a source of hope.

"They came out with a purpose and their purpose was to beat the ... Giants and they did it," Raiola said. "You can use them as an example."

That's weird, so they're going to use us as an inspiration to beat us?

I hope so because that never works. If you want to inspire yourself, look within. That's what Dallas did. Here we have an example of player still looking with-out for inspiration. And I don't see many of his teammates or coaches echoing the sentiment.

Detroit is one of those teams that Dallas cannot take lightly. If Dallas studies film like they did for the Giants, and if the team works on their own preparation, then this game will give them another win.

That's funny cause we used them as inspiration to go 1 - 7 with all our "talent" and no leadership.

The game will decide who is the worst team playing on Thanksgiving.

Good Lord, the thought of losing to freaking Detroit is just scary. They have lost 25 consecutive road games and if they finally break that streak against us...........WOW.

I for one am frightened that it could happen....they have been playing tough, just can't get over the hump from what I have seen from them.

We can't go taking them lightly and I have a feeling that JG knows this....just has to get the players understanding that the Lions ARE a threat.

Yeah a lost to Detriot would wipe out a good chunk of the positive from beating the Giants.

detroit are definitely improving and have some key players such as best, johnson, pettigrew, delmas and right along the d-line but they are still lacking in depth behind the standouts. if we underestimate them then it'll be a tricky afternoon but if we can't beat a team who've lost 25 straight on the road and are missing their qb...

This is going to be a very tough game for Dallas. I'm not going to be feeling very easy, at all, while sitting in my seat at the stadium on Sunday.
