Does Darren Woodson deserve to be Hall of Famer?

Former Packers general manager Ron Wolf thinks so. Here's what Wolf told Sports Illustrated's Dr. Z about Woodson in a column about Hall of Fame candidates.
"Played a unique position for the Cowboys. Did everything a safetyman had to do, strongside or weak. Hell of a special teamer, too. Yes, a terrific player, a Hall of Famer."
Woodson, a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time Super Bowl champ who holds the franchise tackles record, darn sure deserves to be in the Ring of Honor. Perhaps he could join Drew Pearson and Charles Haley in the first class to be inducted at JerryWorld.

I agree that he deserves it, but I don't think he will ever get into the HOF. He doesn't have enough pro-bowls for a guy that plays an unglamorous position and people just don't think of him when you think of superstars.

Its a shame, but I don't think he'll get it.

Has Jerry Jones stated that he is indeed going to do this or is this speculation?

In my eyes, he's one of those guys that is close but not QUITE HOF-worthy. He was a helluva Cowboy, though .. one of my favorites.

Yes as far as I'm concerned. One of my favorite players ever. I was surprised to read he only had 5 Pro Bowls. He seemed pretty dominant for a long time to me but whatever.

Drew Pearson, Cliff Harris and Darren Woodson all deserve to get into the HOF and a strong case could be made for Chuck Howley. But if Bullet Bob Hayes can't get in (a true travesty) I seriously doubt that any of them will ever make it.

He should be a shoe in, but with mediots doing the voting Cowboys players have to be considered Super Stars(Staubach, Dorsett, White, Irvin, Smith, Aikman) to get in so its far from definite.

Woodson is in no doubt. He has the resume, the rings, and the charisma.

5 Pro Bowls at the safety position is plenty enough and you don't have to be a superstar to get in the Hall. You just have to be a very good player at your position for a good period of time. Woodson fits that category.

What about?

Harvey Martin - 114 sacks(unofficial)
23 sacks in a season (unofficial)
4 pro bowls
4 all pro selections
1977 Defensive player of the year
super bowl 12 MVP
1970's All Decade Team
114 sacks in 158 games.....{.72 sacks per game (again unofficial)}

I think there are too many Cowboys who deserve to be in who aren't. Drew Pearson - Just look at his numbers compared to the two Steeler WR's who are in. Bullet Bob - He is the reason for zone defenses. Not to mention the other great names brought up in this thread, and yes I believe Woodson belongs in the hall when his time comes, all time leading tackler for the Dallas Cowboys.... that's impressive.

I think he does. I remember when he was drafted. I was really hoping Dallas would get him. One of the few times I got my wish. Well, I also wanted them to draft Carp but I'll never admit it.
