The Emmitt Smith situation is far different: he and Parcells were not going to gel; Parcells had to be the man in the lockerroom, and that would have been far different with Smith here. And Emmitt's production was well in decline as well. Owens, somewhat, but not nearly as drastic.

The money angle is worth something, but not enough to bet the house on, IMO. And 9 million on a playoff game doesn't affect the salary cap for that season; it's 2010 that's aiming for the uncapped year.

Just a thought...

Similar to how TO and Redball haven't really gelled?

And while ES was in decline and TO is maintaining pretty well, this team has more talent to pick up the slack than that team a few years back had.

And true, that 9 million he makes doesn't help out in terms of the cap (I wasn't suggesting it did) but either way, keep or dismiss, TOs cap number is gonna be there.

My comment was for those who say that Jerry will not pay out that money for a guy to be off the team. Almost as if Jerry can't justify the cost. I was just pointing out that Jerry would make a lot more money than what he would pay to TO if the team was better off by getting rid of him.
