Emmitt Smith's record in jeopardy

Emmitt Smith ran for 136 touchdowns with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s, a record for most rushing touchdowns in a decade. The mark could fall soon.

San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson goes into the weekend with 134 rushing touchdowns for the 2000s. The Chargers play at Cleveland on Sunday and at Cowboys Stadium on Dec. 13.

LT will get that record. There is little to stop him now. He may even get the all time rushing TDs(164) mark before his career is over, but that will be harder to do. If he does it will be with another team. I think the Chargers will release him in the off season.

I like LT but 3>137.......think about it.
LOL
Without a doubt. I'm sure LT agrees, and I'm also sure that he would have 3 rings if he were on those amazing teams.

don't be so sure.. LT has been on some 'amazing' teams himself, only to completely fade in the playoffs.. while Emmitt actually played better and rose to the occasion in the playoffs, LT seems to always be MIA.. don't mistake how important Emmitt was to those 90s teams.. he was the single most important player on those teams.. remember, without him, we never won.. we won without Troy, without Irvin, but any games that Emmitt missed in those days, we lost.. (just ask Charles Haley and that helmet he threw)

The NFL keeps some really bizaar records.

I wonder who holds the record for most receiving TDs during the month of October in a year with a "3" at the end.

It is the rushing record that is most coveted.

From what I've seen with LT fading quickly recently, I'd say Emmitt can relax a little.

I see him in a Pats jersey next year.

I'm amazed that they have all these stats, yet they can't go back and credit defenders with sacks prior to 1982.

Looks as if one of Emmitt's records is gonna get trashed.

And he coulda been a Cowboy. Man that wouldn't have even been fair.

So could Walter Payton.

Imagine that for a moment or two....

I think that guy Dallas drafted ahead of and instead of Walter turned out okay.

The guy Dallas got after San Fran drafted Rice was Kevin Brooks. Not so good.

Randy White was a great player.

But, not to sound blasphemous, but he was no Walter Payton.
