"Dat Dude" mocking Jerry for signing himself???

I dont think I have ever heard a player say something like this before.

Wiley: "Jerry is such an idot, I am a total piece of crap bust that is so overrated it is not even funny and yet Jerry paid me millions"

I got to give Wiley props for calling himself out like that, basically admitting he was a piece of crap bust.

Wiley's name makes me think of the 2004 season.

What a fun season that was. :laugh2:

At least we've had a winning record ever since that season.

I actually remember this guy venting out how he was used in wrong situations and couldn't play to the best of his ability after being cut. Anyone else remember this?

Yep, I remember him complaining about being played on the wrong side of the D. He wanted to be on the right but they had him playing on the left and that was his reason for zero production..

There is some truth in what Marcellus Wiley is saying, however he chose some poor examples to make his point.

Also, I Bill Parcells has to take the blame for signing Dat Dude as well. He may have wanted Bert Berry, but if I am not mistaken, the Cardinals gave Bert Berry a 1-2 million more than we paid Dat Dude.

I think most people could tell Marcellus Wiley was going to be a bust during the Preseason. I think he registered his firs sack during the 3rd or 4th game against a guy that was going to be flipping burgers.

Also, I believe Jerry Jones' harm to the team is alot deeper than just the acquisitions he has made.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Interesting that Wiley didn't seem to think so.

Ah. This one. The Eddie George signing. The glory of Peerless Price.

All were moves that were attributed to Jerry Jones and judging by the way they were utilized, Coach Parcells did not agree. It goes to show you exactly how skilled Jones is at spotting talent and how stars get in his eyes.

Thats the life in the NFL, you win some you lose some. Some people though that Kurt Warner had nothing left but he is in another Championship game for example. He was signed, it was a mistake and Dallas cut their losts, it happens to be kinda corney though to come on ESPN and brag about your diminishing skills after cashing a 4.5 million dollar check, but Oh well.

Don't think so, because Broaddus was talking about that last week.

But I'm sure you have a link to prove me wrong. :)

The point anyway was that Jerry is just an easy target for these guys. Yes, he infuriates me sometimes, too. But people go overboard with it. Not every bad move is his, while every good move is someone else's.

True. Jerry saw names, not production.

Marcellus Wiley made the argument on ESPN's NFL Live today that Jerry Jones' GM gaffes are a much bigger problem for the Cowboys than team chemistry.

Wiley listed a handful of big-name acquisitions that were busts for Jerry, including Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, Eddie George ... and himself.

"I didn't have anything left in the tank," Wiley said, "and he gave me a lot of money."

Trey Wingo chimed in with a "Cha-ching!" at this point.

The Cowboys signed Wiley to a four-year, $16 million contract in 2004, although the 2001 Pro Bowler's production dropped drastically the previous two seasons in San Diego. Wiley didn't see all that money, since he was cut after one season with the Cowboys. But he did cash a $4.5 million signing bonus ($1.5 million per sack in Dallas).

I never liked that signing...all he did in Dallas was drink gatorade.

I called him(and still do) "That Dud"

Wiley is totally right about that. And then when you throw in all of the reaches and busts in the draft and the questionable coaching hires over the last 15 years and Jerry's meddling with the staff and team chemistry, I think we have our answer to why we haven't won a playoff game in 13 years.
