On a third-and-5 in the second quarter, Terry Glenn proved the health of his knee by taking a shot at the legs from Commanders rookie S LaRon Landry. Glenn had already fought through an illegal chuck from Fred Smoot, and was upended downfield on a go route by Landry, coming screaming off the hash.


And at first, Glenn thought nothing of it. But his teammates didn't feel that way and after the situation was explained to him, Glenn's mind began to change on the matter.


"From what I heard, the guy was really trying to take me out," Glenn said.


"So now I look back on it, yeah, I think it was intentional, because he could’ve stayed back. If I’m running in for the ball like that, why is he coming at my knees?"


QB Tony Romo was as upset as anyone, saying in his postgame presser that it was "disappointing" while characterizing the hit as a cheap shot. Glenn wasn't happy either, but seemed willing to chalk part of it up to youth.


"He’s a young guy," Glenn said. "And hey, I guess he wanted to play a little dirty, I don’t know, I’m not sure."

The ball was obviously thrown in error and it landed away from Glenn way before Landry hit the turf and then went towards Glenn's legs.

He's done this all year though and he needs to be taught a lesson.

It doesn't look like a cheap shot, but I think Glenn was incensed because he was looking right at him, and he arched up instead of going flat to the ground because it seemed like Landry did want to take him out. If he wanted to cause less damage he could have easily done so by going to the ground, but seemingly chose to hit him regardless using the slide as an excuse. The ball was well out of position by that time.

That wasn't even close to a cheap play. Landry was running from mid-field to try and get the INT. Romo lofted the ball very high and gave Landry a chance to get there. It would've sucked if Glenn got hurt, but it wasn't dirty.

I agree.

Landry was close to the INT. He was hustling on the play and happened to run into Glenn.

I hated to see it, but it wasn't a cheap shot.

It was definately a cheap shot. He went for Glenn's knees on purpose. It may be a good thing for Glenn's confidence, the first hit is always the scariest.

Ok, from looking at the youtube clip, Landry did nothing wrong and I bet Romo and Glenn would agree once they look at the tape. He was going for the ball when he was diving and he just happened to make contact with Glenn's legs.
