Hard Knocks finale will fire up Giants

There sure was a lot of Super Bowl talk on the Hard Knocks finale for a team that has experienced a 12-year playoff win drought.
The Giants, last year's champions, have been looking all summer for reasons to feel disrespected. DE Justin Tuck has acknowledged watching Hard Knocks to gather motivational fodder.
I guarantee you Tuck's eyes lit up when he watched Tony Romo utter these words: "We can fast forward through this preseason, through the regular season, get to the playoffs and get to the Super Bowl or whatever and be there now. But so much of the fun and so much of the excitement is this whole process. I mean, it's the old saying: The journey is the funnest part."
The Giants (and other NFC foes sick of hearing about how much talent Dallas has) can easily twist that statement into evidence of the Cowboys' overconfidence. I'd be willing to bet that Romo would rather not have mentioned the possibility of fast-forwarding to the Super Bowl.
Romo has a ton of swagger, but he's humble enough to realize that just winning a playoff game is a giant step for him and his team. And he knows that's not very likely to happen if the Cowboys don't take care of business on a daily basis.
"It is about today," Romo said this afternoon. "That's how the best teams do it. We had a talk today. It's not about all that stuff that is in the future -- it's about right now. I mentioned before about getting better and improving. The way to do that and to be ready and be a good team later is to get better today."
That last quote probably won't make the Big Blue bulletin board.
