This would be something reminscent to me of the Coslet-influenced Darnay Scott signing in 2002; a guy who used to mean something that just doesn't have it anymore.

He's the guy we should have signed in FA instead of trading for Galloway.

In retrospect, this is an excellent point. No way of knowing that at the time though, Horn had only been sporadically successful at that point (the offseason following '99) with Kansas City.

I just don't see it. Unless we find a BIG upgrade, our current group (with assumed progress) is fine this year.

I am more excited about Amendola than Joe Horn.

Yeah no kidding.

With no NFL experience and not even knowing if he makes the team(I think he does) I still prefer a new young guy... especially AMENdola

The Joe Horn is pretty good train left the station like five years ago.

Hurd, Austin, Stanback. He's not beating out those three for a roster spot on this team so why even mention his name.

I've disliked Joe Horn ever since his lame cell phone TD celebration. How lame? Much like how I now dislike Chad Johnson because of his stupid HoF jacket celebration. LAME..

It would be a tough sale, however he used to be talented.

Tony Hill and Drew Pearson used to be talented too...why dont we go get them

You have other free agents like Eric Moulds and Keenan McKardell

we need a WR who can stretch the field, while both of those WR's are servicable, neither imo can stretch the field

Yknow what though, seemingly "done" or not, has been part of the Patriots tactic the last several years. Bringing in players noone else wants, who most think have nothing left in the tank.

I would not rule out a Horn revival if he were to come to the right team that's ready to compete. Aged or not, he adds another immediate dimension to any deep team.

I wouldn't mind it. He may be old, and he may be washed up. But in his defense, nobody is going to play at wr in Atlanta and look decent. My only concern would be him taking a roster spot from a young wr with a lot of upside.

I'd take Horn over Austin, for sure, and I think he'd likely beat out Hurd for the 3rd spot. But I'm not sure he could actually beat out Crayton for the two spot, and so he'd actually just be a wasted pick up.
