Best defensive game since Indy with BP.

Agreed.

But we stopped a Big Time QB and team against the Colts. We had better technique against the Colts... jamming and redirecting their WRs. I miss that.

Today we stopped a Cowboy killer and decent team.

But... like I said, Agreed!

Wade deserves it. He rallied the team in it's darkest hour while everyone in Dallas was taking turns kicking them, and his unit saved the season single handed.

Agreed. Great job today.

Great job Wade, after 7 games you finally came through under the threat of being face whipped with Jerry's toupe.

This was a great psychological move by Jerry also. Now Wade will feel better about this team and his job status and get out there and get after folks.

I thought Wade was very aggressive in his defensive play calling all the way. Garcia had plenty of pressure, his inexperienced secondary played exceptionally, in my eyes, Wade deserves credit, since last week I blasted him.

Next weeks a different story. :)

What he said.

I am happy Wade appeared to get the defense playing better. That was a positive. Hopefully it continues to carry over cause if they'll play like that once Romo gets back we'll be able to string some wins together.

Jerry Jones gave Wade Phillips the game ball

Jerry Jones stood in the Cowboys' locker room in St. Louis last week and gave Wade Phillips the dreaded vote of confidence.

Jerry stood in the Cowboys' locker room in Irving today and gave Phillips the game ball.

That might have been a first for Jerry. He couldn't recall for sure, but handing the game ball to his head coach after a win is certainly rare.

"Wade Phillips did his job today," said Jerry, who praised Phillips "gutsy" calls and shrewd psychological moves. "Today was a big victory for this team. It gives us a chance to stay in the hunt of where we want to be at the end of the year."

Jerry gave Wade the game ball in the locker after last year's week one win over the Giants.

OK you're wrong. He's the owner and GM. He belongs in the locker room.

Come to think of it, he belongs anywhere he figgen wants to be it being his team and all.

OMT Who the hell are you to tell Jones where he should or shouldn't be?

Wade deserves it. He has been much maligned and got the team ready for today. Now, keep it up, and maybe you'll still be around next year. ;)

One week later

Ok let's be a little candid here. Jerry gets criticized and discredited as the meddling fool for purportedly getting into Wade's face last week. Apparently it worked with the defensive turnaround in this particular game.

Whether this was Jerry inspired or not you have to be concerned why Wade had to be awakened and get more involved. Could he not see what was happening with his own defense to date. Could he not get the team nor his assistants better prepared particularly against the likes of the Bengals and Rams?

Wade no doubt deserves kudos for the turnaround on the field yesterday. But it is scary to me that Wade had to be provoked into action, be it Jerry, players, the media, fan outcry, etc..

The GM gives the game balls away or the head coach gives the game balls away?
