The fine folks at Spike TV have supplied an advance copy of Monday's "4th and Long" in which Jerry Jones gets face time opposite Michael Irvin.
I'm not sure how Cowboys fans will feel when they hear the Cowboys owner/general manager tell Irvin, "I know they can come in and make a difference in us winning a championship and having a great team."
Jones is talking about the 10 remaining wannabe Cowboys free agents. And then he mentions the success of past free agents Mark Tuinei and Tony Romo.
Finally, Jones tells Irvin, "You guys could really be something special for the future success of the Dallas Cowboys."
Hyperbole? I think so. I mean we are talking a player who will be the 80th man on the training camp roster.
The line of the show from the players comes from one who doesn't like having to run up and down every step in the Cotton Bowl. He terms it "slave-ship work."
Also:
Tony Dorsett makes an appearance. And I think former Lancaster High standout Eddie Moten is still on the show but I don't remember seeing him. Again.
My personal favorite Andrew "Too Small" Hawkins, the 5-7, 175-pound wide receiver, has another standout week. He's not much smaller than Dorsett and appears to be in better shape.
