I get nervous every time Jerry mentions Bigg and LT in the same sentice.
Roger that, scares the heck out of me! Either re-sign Flo or play someone else at tackle - don't even consider for a second moving Bigg over there.

This is scary....but, hopefully we know what we are doing.

The whole signing of Bigg last year and paying him LT money to come and playing him at RG says it all.

They have repeatedly said they were signing him because of the uncertainty of being able to re-sign Flo.

I swear, not you, but others here on the board have had every indication that this was Flo's last year as a Cowboy and still they can't understand that barring Flo taking a paycut this year..he's as good as gone.

BIGG will be moved to LT, trust me.

And Free or one of the others will be moved to RG. And we may even sign a OL guy in FA or draft one high to get some insurance going.

And we always have Columbo to move over there and he's outright mentioned it in recent interviews lately.

Hello..? Must be some coaches discussing his off season program as learning how to set up on the left side possibly.

I'm all for Flo being gone.

It opens up rafts of possibilities for us not committing to $10 mil/yr with him. It means being able to afford help in other areas in FA at WR, RB, it means looking at having some funds to resign both MBIII and Hamlin to long term deals..whatever.

It's time.

Leonard Davis' best position is guard, but he's not nearly the disaster at tackle that teh intrawebs try to make him out to be (who probably never paid any attention to him). I watched about 5 or 6 AZ games on NFL Replay last offseason just to watch Bigg and he was better than average in all of them.

Sounds to me like he personally wants Flo back, but realizes that it might not be the best long term move for the franchise.

jones has been long known for loyalty only to have it usually bite him in the buttocks. maybe letting flo go now is something he's had to learn to do no one ever gives him credit for.

I watched a whole lot of speed DE's and OLBs eat Bigg up. Arizona never had a good line so often the sacks came from somewhere else but Bigg could not really handle the speed rushers. No one should expect a 366 lb guy being able to move with a guy 90 lbs lighter.

Leonard Davis is a freak of nature athlete, which is why he was the #2 pick in the NFL draft. If anyone actually crticially watched him this season it was obvious on pulls and screens and his abiltiy to get his hands on much smaller linebackers in open space. Again, I don't know if people really even watch games or if they just regurgitate what they hear on teh interwebs or just what they believe to be true. Arizona had one of the most lopsided pass:run ratios in the NFL under Denny Green, were always playing from behind and yet Bigg's sacks allowed+ holding penalties per pass attempt ratios were more than acceptable and comparable to much bigger names.

IMO, Jerry has occasionally hung on to guys too long.

So, he says he needs an objective voice to help?

Let Adams go, Jerry.

No charge.

Iman, get real.
I WATCHED guys beat Bigg. He did not get charged with a bunch of sacks because his guy was the 2nd or 3rd to get to the QB. BUT they beat him; but the Arizona line stank so the rush could get to the QB from just about anywhere.
Now I am not talking Torin Tucker here. Or Petitti. I think he might be about as good at LT as Colombo is at RT, maybe a little worse. That is a BIG step down from what we have right now. And against guys like Osi he WILL need help consistently while Flo did not.

I fuggets ... who played LT for the Giants this year?

That answers that question.

Flo isn't going to make or break this team. Yeah, yeah ... LT's don't grow on trees, and neither does the $10 mil worth of other players his contract would prohibit us from acquiring.

One player isn't going to push us over the hump ... it's about getting as much of as good as possible.

Several very goods are far greater than one excellent.
