So from now on you can't have private moments in the locker room?
From now on Romo can't whisper to Witten that he thinks Ware is over rated, or something that if leaked, could simply destroy the locker room for the season?
I know you hate TO as if he stole your wife from you, but to cut a talent based on lip service is the dumbest idea in history, and anyone who subscribes to it, should not be allowed out of the house without a helmet and a supervisor.
To say he was cut because of "lip service" is delusional. Everyone knows why he was cut.
Neither of us has a clue as to what goes on in the locker room but you can bet its a lot more than talking if it results in a guy getting cut. I have ALWAYS given TO his due in terms of performance and production. The man is a hell of an athlete and if you think the team cut him simply because whispers were flying around the locker room, you're nuts.
Jerry cut him because like every other team the man has played for, he just wasn't worth it anymore. His act had worn itself out, plain and simple. That's it. As simple as it gets, he wasn't worth the headache. End of story.
And no, I don't hate TO. Me acknowledging the guy was an jerk does not mean I hate the guy. Me acknowledging that the team is better off without his circus does not mean I hate the guy. I have given TO credit numerous times by saying that I was wrong about how long it would take for him to wear out his welcome in Dallas. I've said before that I was surprised at how good his behavior was in Dallas. But like all good things it came to an end. There's a point where you gotta decide if the extra baggage a guy brings is justified by what he gives you on the field. Jerry and Co. reached that point and I am damn glad that he had the stones to cut bait instead of trying to force it to work.
Trying to map the TO situation onto other players is a weak defense. Using the hypothetical of all hypotheticals
(Romo talking behind Ware's back to Witten) as a reason why the "snitch" was wrong in divulging information to Werder just doesn't fly. A good part of the reason someone "snitched"
(Can't express how much I despise this word) is probably due to the fact that they were fed up with all the crap. Given TOs history with locker room confrontation
(You do remember he fought Hugh Douglas, right? As in teammate Hugh Douglas. Quite the guy to get into a fight when your "family" member confronts you on something.) they probably just kept quiet until a prying reporter came around asking all the right question. Mix in a little sensationalization on the part of Werder and ESPN and you have a "snitch" once the locker room gets ahold of the story.
The locker room is supposed to be a place where your "team family" is allowed to air grievances
Honest question here. What happens if airing grievances doesn't work? Then what? I would bet the farm that sometime in the TOs tenure in Dallas someone aired grievances and was met with a nice little response.
get things off their chest, and work through issues without some idiot running to the media like a b****
It's funny you mention running to the media. Throughout the season during all the turmoil and such, there was a player who consistently went to the media and used post-game conferences as a chance to blast others. Believe it not, it was TO.
An anonymous player going and saying TO is the problem is considered "snitching" while TO going to the media blaming everyone else isn't. Odd the way it works.
